2023: Atiku, Okowa, Others Visit Bauchi, Gov. Mohammed Vows To Deliver State For PDP

Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has vowed to deliver the state for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar in the forthcoming 2023 general election.

The governor made the pledge in Bauchi on Wednesday during the official reception of other political parties members who defected into the PDP in the state.

He assured that the PDP presidential candidate as well as the party would not be humiliated in the state.

“This time, all the people of Bauchi and the North-East will vote for you and they will make sure that their votes count.

“This is our time and the Time for justice and equity. Bauchi is one and we are all behind the PDP and we must prove the doubting Thomases wrong

“The people of Bauchi can not be bought. We have principles, we have ideas and I know most of the decampees are coming to the PDP because of what we are doing,” he said.

Earlier, the state Chairman of PDP, Mr Hamza Akuyam, said that over 25,000 people defected to from different political parties to the PDP in the state.

He said among them were former Deputy governor, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, among others.

“What we are about to witness is as a result of tremendous achievement done by our governor for the past three years.

“I want to assure you that PDP has come to stay and we are not afraid of any election and we are going to deliver Bauchi to you (Atiku) and all the PDP candidates In-Sha-Allah,” he said

In his address, Atiku Abubakar congratulated the governor for the achievement he has recorded in the last three years in both infrastructure, education and healthcare delivery.

Abubakar who said he was not in the state to campaign also said “I want to use this opportunity to welcome our worthy decampees, particularly the former Deputy governor and those who held various offices in the last APC administration.

“I believe when we start the real presidential campaign, again, we will witness a larger turnout than this.

“I congratulate the governor, the party and the people of Bauchi state.

Some members of the party at the occasion included the PDP Vice presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, and former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Others were former senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district, Mr Dino Melaye, PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, among others.

Xenophobic Attacks: Nigerian Students To Picket MTN, MultiChoice, Other Businesses

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS South-West Zone D, has announced plans to picket South African companies in Nigeria following the ongoing xenophobic attacks in the country.

DAILY POST reports that some Nigerians were recently killed in South Africa over the violent attacks.

A statement issued to newsmen by Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, Coordinator, NANS South-West, Zone D, said that the association is mobilizing to take decisive and lawful action by organizing peaceful picketing and mass advocacy against South African business interests operating in Nigeria.

“We categorically state that the continued targeting of Nigerians under any guise is unacceptable and must come to an immediate end.

N5m, N10m Zero-interest Loans: SheVentures Opens Applications For Women Entrepreneurs

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has opened a new round of applications for its SheVentures proposition, offering zero-interest loans of up to ₦10 million to women entrepreneurs to ease access to working capital and support business growth.

The facility provides loans ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦5 million under a general category, and ₦5 million to ₦10 million for sector-specific businesses, with funding capped at up to 50% of an applicant’s average monthly turnover.

At the centre of the offering is a 0% interest rate, with all charges embedded in a transparent structure.

Repayment is structured over four or six months, allowing businesses to match obligations with their cash flow cycles.
