2023: SDP Presidential Candidate, Adebayo, Vows To Fix Nigeria

Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has vowed to fix Nigeria and addressed problems facing the country if elected in 2023.
According to a release by his media team, the presidential candidate made the pledge recently at an event organised by the Nigeria Defence Academy, NDA, held at the Nigerian Army Resource Center, Abuja.
He said: “I have understand what went wrong, our country is not a difficult country to live in. What the country has gone through is deliberate sabotage by some people. Only Nigerians can fix Nigeria, and they are the same people that damage it.
“Let’s fix ourselves from the lessons learnt, as history is going to be made in 2023 general election. The time has come to choose the right leader – If we do not fix ourselves, we will get worse results than in 2019.
“My advise to Nigerians, is what I will say to my mechanic; Do you understand what is wrong with this car? If we don’t understand what is wrong with our dear nation, we can’t fix it,” Adebayo said.
“The truth is that every youth in Nigeria seems to be angry with Nigeria, But whether we like it or not, everyone is guilty.”
“For me, I want to fix the country. My spanner is the truth. I don’t stick to things that favour me. We have issues on insecurity, of which I know that the current administration can fix.
“There is serious injustice either in the service, the government is creating new poverty. In the past, poverty was limited to people that are disabled and illiterate. But nowadays the government has made it impossible for professionals to have value for their work due to the currency devaluation.
“Nigeria problem can be fixed today, we are not attracting talent in government, people are in government because of money. However, Nigeria doesn’t need more than seven ideas to work.
“Not To young bill,” young people have no excuse anymore because the political space is now open unlike when we were being beaten by the military,” he added.

Protest Rocks PDP National Secretariat As Wike-led Faction Takes Over

A protest erupted on Monday at the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, Wadata Plaza in Abuja, as supporters of the factional acting National Chairman of the party, Mohammed Abdulrahman, stormed the premises.
The group, chanting solidarity songs, demanded that the National Working Committee, led by Umar Damagum, vacate the headquarters immediately.
Abdulrahman was named the acting national chairman of the party last week as the leadership crisis threatening the soul of the party worsened with the suspension of the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and the Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, for a period of one month.
In a dramatic twist, the faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, had converged at a separate venue in Abuja and announced the suspension of the Damagum-led NWC.

The protesters, who accused the Damagum-led leadership of mismanaging party affairs, vowed to reclaim control of the secretariat for the Abdulrahman-led faction.
Security operatives have been deployed to the area to prevent a breakdown of law and order as both factions struggle for control of the party’s edifice.
However, the faction of the party’s NWC led by Abdulrahman has taken control of the party’s National Chairman’s office.

Why We Suspended Anyanwu, Bature, Others – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has disclosed why its National Working Committee, NWC, suspended the National Secretary and the National Organizing Secretary of the party, Samuel Anyanwu and Umar Bature respectively.
The NWC-PDP on Saturday suspended Anyanwu, Bature, Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade and Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha for one month following a court ruling that halted the party’s planned national convention.
The NWC-PDP was said to have issued a formal warning letter on September 30, 2025 to Anyanwu and Bature.

The warning letter reportedly cited allegations of misconduct, including unauthorized communications, anti-party activities and actions that undermined party unity and protocols.
The letter was also said to serve as a final caution to Anyanwu and Bature, urging immediate compliance with NWC directives to avert further disciplinary measures.
“Despite these warnings, the pair’s continued involvement in activities deemed disruptive culminated in their suspensions.
