Twenty-four hours after some unknown gunmen abducted the Public Relations Ifficer of the Edo State command of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Mrs Bridget Esene, her abductors are yet to make any contact with the family, a source has disclosed.
Esene was abducted in Ikhueniro, Benin on Sunday while on her way to church.
The family, while expressing worries over this silence from her abductors, stated that the refusal of the gunmen to call them is a big source of concern.
A source who does not want his name mentioned said the family was, however, hopeful that she would return to them.
“The refusal by the kidnappers to call the family members for talks calls for concern. We are getting apprehensive but hope she will be released soon,” the family source stated.
Esene’s Kidnap, it was noticed caused panic among the family members and police officers and men of the Edo state command of the Nigerian Immigration service.
When contacted, Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor said the police has received the report of the kidnap, just as he called for calm.
