35th Annual Convention: Let The Light Shine ‘Brighter And Brighter’ – Omobude

The one week long annual convention of the Gospel Light International Ministries – New Covenant Gospel Church, begins on Monday, October 23, 2023, in Benin City, Edo State.

In a press statement endorsed by the Media Aide to Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude, the General Superintendent of New Covenant Gospel Church, Deacon Ralph Okhiria, stated that thousands of Christian delegates from across the globe are expected to grace the 35th edition of the convention christened: Bible Alive Believers International Convention (BABIC).

The 7-day powerful christian event with the theme “Brighter And Brighter” (Proverbs Chapter 4 verse 18), will hold at His Glory main auditorium in new Benin Area from October 23 to 25, and the Peniel Convention Ground at Ohovbe Quarter, from October 26 to 29, both in Benin City.

The statement noted that the Christian programme will engender the light of God to shine brighter and brighter in the lives of the people in particular and Nigeria as a nation in general.

Speakers at the convention includes the General Superintendent of New Covenant Gospel Church and immediate past national president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude, his wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Abiola Omobude and former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Others are Bishop Mon Igbinosa, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, Evang. Kingsley Nwaorgu, Pastor John Aniemeke and many other anointed men and women of God.

The talented Covenant Mass Choirs and other selected music ministers will render melodious songs with praiseo and worship to God throughout the special spiritual event.

The statement further disclosed that the festival-like convention would be a period for spiritual refreshing for all the believers expected at the event, which promises to bring down from heaven the mighty hands of God upon the participants.

Besides, special prayers shall be offered by the several top Christian clerics and delegates from across the world, for the peace of nations across the globe, especially in Nigeria, as well as the wellbeing of Nigerians.

“There shall be a harvest of miracles, signs and wonders. There shall be mighty visitations of God upon His people that are called by His name. Indeed, we have God’s assurances that different kinds of miracles will take place during the convention as God will intervene in the affairs of men, ” the statement added.

Xenophobic Attacks: Nigerian Students To Picket MTN, MultiChoice, Other Businesses

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS South-West Zone D, has announced plans to picket South African companies in Nigeria following the ongoing xenophobic attacks in the country.

DAILY POST reports that some Nigerians were recently killed in South Africa over the violent attacks.

A statement issued to newsmen by Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, Coordinator, NANS South-West, Zone D, said that the association is mobilizing to take decisive and lawful action by organizing peaceful picketing and mass advocacy against South African business interests operating in Nigeria.

“We categorically state that the continued targeting of Nigerians under any guise is unacceptable and must come to an immediate end.

N5m, N10m Zero-interest Loans: SheVentures Opens Applications For Women Entrepreneurs

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has opened a new round of applications for its SheVentures proposition, offering zero-interest loans of up to ₦10 million to women entrepreneurs to ease access to working capital and support business growth.

The facility provides loans ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦5 million under a general category, and ₦5 million to ₦10 million for sector-specific businesses, with funding capped at up to 50% of an applicant’s average monthly turnover.

At the centre of the offering is a 0% interest rate, with all charges embedded in a transparent structure.

Repayment is structured over four or six months, allowing businesses to match obligations with their cash flow cycles.

Yemisi Edun, Managing Director and Chief Executive of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), said the initiative reflects a deliberate approach to inclusive growth.

“Women-led enterprises are critical to economic activity, yet they face structural barriers.

This intervention aims to help close that gap by providing financing that supports job creation, business expansion, and long-term sustainability for women entrepreneurs.”
