Ahead Monday judgement to determine winner of the 2019 gobernosrhip election in Bauchi State by the Supreme Court, group of Lawyers under the aegis of Body of Bauchi Lawyers of Conscience (BOBALAC) have urged people of the state to remain calm and responsible in their conduct.
In a statement signed by Bar. Jibrin Sa’id, the Chief Convener of the group which made available to newsmen in Bauchi on Saturday, BOBALAC urged people of the state to remain optimistic of the victory of Gov. Bala Mohammad at the Supreme Court.
“Following the proceedings of the Apex Court holding at FCT Abuja in relation to the appeal on the 2019 governorship election matter, filed by the APC and former governor, Mohammed Abubakar.
“We have been keenly following the reactions and commentaries that have been trending across various media platforms across the state on the matter.
“We enjoin the teeming residents particularly supporters of the state governor to continue to remain calm, responsible and civilised in their conduct as we await the resumption and conclusion of proceedings in the matter.
“This is because with procedure applicable to proceedings at the appellate courts such as the Supreme Court, the business to be entertained in respect of the case is hearing and not any other thing.
“For this reason, let’s all remain optimistic of victory in this regard so that at last, all impediments and hurdles standing in the governor’s way of positively discharging the mandate freely given to him will finally be removed for good,” sa’id said.
