APC Expels National Official In Bauchi

The Gamawa Local Government chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State on Saturday expelled an ex-officio of the party, Alhaji Sirajo Dada, over alleged anti-party activities.

The decision to expel the national officer of the ruling party was taken at an emergency meeting of the executive council of the party in the local government area.

Announcing Dada’s expulsion from the party, APC chairman in Gamawa LGA, Ahmed Saleh Super, said that the party could not fold its arms and condone acts of indolence, indiscipline and betrayal from its members no matter how highly-placed in society.

Super alleged that Dada worked against the interest of APC in the area during the just-concluded general elections, adding that the national ex-officio was caught campaigning for candidates of PRP in elections the ruling party fielded candidates.

According to him, Dada was caught at one of the polling units during the presidential and national assembly elections asking voters not to vote for APC candidates and soliciting votes for the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP)’s House of Representatives candidate for the federal constituency.

We are here today to announce to you that the executives of the APC in Gamawa LGA have expelled Alhaji Sirajo Dada from the party here in Gamawa LGA.

“He worked against the success of the party (APC) during the last 2023 general elections by campaigning for candidates of the PRP and we have evidence to prove what we are saying,” the chairman said.

Fubara Misusing Funds, Operating Without Budget – Ex-Rivers PDP Caretaker Chair

Robinson Ewor, a former Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State, has accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of misusing public funds.

Ewor claimed that the state is currently operating without an approved budget for the 2026 fiscal year.

He made the allegations on Wednesday during the “thank you” visit of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, to Ahoada East Local Government Area.

According to Ewor, governance in Rivers State has been hampered by a lack of collaboration between the executive and legislative branches.

He warned that without a formally passed appropriation law, all state spending would be unlawful.

The government is designed so that there must be an executive, a legislature, and a judiciary.

“The three must work together to be able to deliver the dividends of democracy for the state.

2026, as we speak, the state has no budget. Every expenditure we make from now on, from January 1 going forward, is an illegal expenditure,” the PDP chieftain said.

Ewor urged the state government to be transparent with citizens.

So I will advise them, let them be the leaders they are. Let them communicate, let them open up, let them tell their followers the truth,” he added.

Peter Obi’s Ex-running Mate, Baba-Ahmed Declares Presidential Ambition

Former Vice-Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has formally declared interest in contesting the presidency in 2027 general elections.

Baba-Ahmed made the declaration at a rally held at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The declaration announcement is coming barely one week after Obi announced his departure from the Labour Party, LP, for the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Speaking to party members and supporters, Baba-Ahmed said his aspiration was neither reactionary nor dependent on Obi’s political decisions, adding that his presidential ambition predates the 2023 election.

“Can I please remind you that before His Excellency Governor Peter Obi filed for the presidency, I aspired for the presidency before him? The records are there for you to see,” he said.

Rivers: Wike Will Be Under Fubara If He Joins APC – Bala Ibrahim

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Director of Information, Bala Ibrahim, has disclosed that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike will be under Governor Sim Fubara if he defects to the party.

Ibrahim, however, said Wike will be given a seat in the APC if he decides to join.

In an interview on Trust TV on Wednesday, Ibrahim said: “He will be given a seat, there will be a place for him.
