Attack On Captain Hosa’s Personality: Group Blows Hot, Vows To Resist Further Attack

A socio-political group, Edo Democracy and Heritage Project (EDHP) on Monday said that the attack on Edo born billionaire, Capt. Hosa Okunbo is politically motivated and would be resisted by noble Edo indigenes, patriots and the Ancestors.

Briefing journalists in Benin City, Press Secretary of EDHP, Omorefe Felix Uhunmwunagho, said the attack on the stateman and business mogul is not unconnected with the immature ploy to whittle Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Edo governorship election in the state.

“It has come to the cognizance of Edo Democracy and Heritage Project (EDHP) the incessant bashing of name, personality and integrity of our own very indomitable and illustrious son of Edo soil, Captain, Dr .Hosa Wells Okunbo.

“The spate of coordinated attacks, with their attendants mode of vicious execution can best be described as the unconscionable actions by hungry attack-dogs and hirelings of no visible means of livelihood. Our forebears admonished us not to rejoice naysayers and political charlatans are tarnishing the image of noble men and women, for tomorrow may be your turn.

“Sequel to the seemingly virulent attacks by the Edo State Government-led by the Executive Governor of the State , His Excellency Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki against this symbol of industry, and Dove of peace that abhors any form of self aggrandizement and insincerity in his dealings with business associates and the mass of Edo people, let alone the down trodden or the less privileged.

“We have concluded after a very deep evaluation of the seamless attacks and venomous indignation against this quintessential icon of Edo kingdom, who doesn’t deserve this embarrassing treatment and wouldn’t want to fight dirty either in the public or anywhere else to avenge hurlings by character assassins against his hard earned reputation .

“Even with the clout and resources at his (Capt. Hosa Okunbo) disposal, but his pedigree will never allow him to deliberately concoct any wrong against our dear state and a sitting governor, rather all that matters to him is industry and wealth creation for our teeming unemployed youths, who are eminently deserving of empowerment; as well as resuscitation of arts, culture and tourism dragnets of Edo people, as he has always done,” Uhunmwunagho said.

Uhunmwunagho pleaded with the governor to, as a matter of urgency, separate governance from politics by appointing an experienced politician to help him bridge and manage the relationship of the political wing of his administration.

Xenophobic Attacks: Nigerian Students To Picket MTN, MultiChoice, Other Businesses

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS South-West Zone D, has announced plans to picket South African companies in Nigeria following the ongoing xenophobic attacks in the country.

DAILY POST reports that some Nigerians were recently killed in South Africa over the violent attacks.

A statement issued to newsmen by Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, Coordinator, NANS South-West, Zone D, said that the association is mobilizing to take decisive and lawful action by organizing peaceful picketing and mass advocacy against South African business interests operating in Nigeria.

“We categorically state that the continued targeting of Nigerians under any guise is unacceptable and must come to an immediate end.

N5m, N10m Zero-interest Loans: SheVentures Opens Applications For Women Entrepreneurs

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has opened a new round of applications for its SheVentures proposition, offering zero-interest loans of up to ₦10 million to women entrepreneurs to ease access to working capital and support business growth.

The facility provides loans ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦5 million under a general category, and ₦5 million to ₦10 million for sector-specific businesses, with funding capped at up to 50% of an applicant’s average monthly turnover.

At the centre of the offering is a 0% interest rate, with all charges embedded in a transparent structure.

Repayment is structured over four or six months, allowing businesses to match obligations with their cash flow cycles.
