Bauchi Communities Benefit From N9bn Road Projects Of Gov. Mohammed

In a move aimed at fostering devident of democracy at the grassroots level, Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has earmarked over N9 billion for the construction of four roads linking various axis within Bauchi metropolis.

The roads include: 4.1km Sabon kaura-Birshi-BRC, 6km Zango-Gwallagan Mayaka-Dandango, 1.1km Bayara Township road and 2.6km Gwallameji-Rafin zurfi-Yolan Bayara Road.

Speaking during the commissioning of the projects in Bauchi on Sunday, Mohammed said that the projects were aimed to open up the axis for community demographic development as well as to decongest the Bauchi Metropolis.

According to him, the prioritisation of road construction and rehabilitation by his administration was a response to the wishes and aspirations of the various communities that have suffered neglect over the years.

He affirmed that his administration was committed to ensure that projects were executed according to the precise specifications and terms of the contract, and directed the Ministry of Works and Transportation to ensure compliance through Monitoring and evaluation of the projects.

The Governor commended the benefiting Communities for living in peace with one another despite the complexity of religion and tribal differences of the people in the area.

Mohammed, who decried the security situation of the outskirt of the Bauchi metropolis attributed the trend to bad eggs among the strangers visiting or migrating to the state from neighboring states.

He however, warned Traditional Rulers as well as Community Leaders to stand firm on the protection of their environment and report any suspicious activity to the Authority.

In his remarks, an Elder State Man, Alhaji Garba Noma, commended the Governor for the move to develop the state but called on the governor to consider the reincarnation of the state dilapidated industries for job creation and economic advancement.

Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Adamu, top government functionaries as well as stakeholders were present during the ceremony.

Xenophobic Attacks: Nigerian Students To Picket MTN, MultiChoice, Other Businesses

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS South-West Zone D, has announced plans to picket South African companies in Nigeria following the ongoing xenophobic attacks in the country.

DAILY POST reports that some Nigerians were recently killed in South Africa over the violent attacks.

A statement issued to newsmen by Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, Coordinator, NANS South-West, Zone D, said that the association is mobilizing to take decisive and lawful action by organizing peaceful picketing and mass advocacy against South African business interests operating in Nigeria.

“We categorically state that the continued targeting of Nigerians under any guise is unacceptable and must come to an immediate end.

N5m, N10m Zero-interest Loans: SheVentures Opens Applications For Women Entrepreneurs

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has opened a new round of applications for its SheVentures proposition, offering zero-interest loans of up to ₦10 million to women entrepreneurs to ease access to working capital and support business growth.

The facility provides loans ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦5 million under a general category, and ₦5 million to ₦10 million for sector-specific businesses, with funding capped at up to 50% of an applicant’s average monthly turnover.

At the centre of the offering is a 0% interest rate, with all charges embedded in a transparent structure.

Repayment is structured over four or six months, allowing businesses to match obligations with their cash flow cycles.
