Bauchi Senator Presents N19m Toolboxes To Solar Installations Trainees

Sen. Shehu Buba, member representing Bauchi South at the senate has presented starter kits worth N19 million to 100 beneficiaries of his solar photovoltaic installation and maintenance training in Bauchi.

Speaking at the end of the 4-day training and distribution of starter kits to the beneficiaries, Mr Mohammed Gwaza, one of the training Coordinators, said that the trainees were selected from the seven Local Government Areas that make up Bauchi South Senatorial District.

According to him, each toolbox presented to the beneficiaries is estimated at N190,000.

The 4-day training which commenced on Thursday, ended on Sunday with a tour to the Solar panels farm at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Gubi permanent campus.

The participants were taken through the various procedures and processes of solar power system installations and maintenance by engineers and other experts in the field.

The participants were also taken through various areas of the system by officials from the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) for the purposes of certification to make them certified skilled individuals.

One of the beneficiaries, Mohammed Shua’ibu from Toro Local Government, recounted that when he filled the form for the training two months ago, he didn’t believe it would come to fruition especially when he had waited for a month without hearing about it.

However, he said he was surprised when he received a call two weeks ago that the training would be held but still didn’t believe it until he entered the venue of the training.

According to him, he would not sell the starter kit given to him, rather, he would go and set up a small shop where he would train his younger ones and his friends, adding that the knowledge he gathered during the training would be stepped down to the people of his community.

He lauded the senator for the kind gesture and called on other politicians to emulate him.

We were lodged in this Zaranda Hotel for the four days training, we were also fed and we were also given a token apart from our starter kits. May God uplift the senator to any heights he so much desires,” he prayed.

Xenophobic Attacks: Nigerian Students To Picket MTN, MultiChoice, Other Businesses

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS South-West Zone D, has announced plans to picket South African companies in Nigeria following the ongoing xenophobic attacks in the country.

DAILY POST reports that some Nigerians were recently killed in South Africa over the violent attacks.

A statement issued to newsmen by Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, Coordinator, NANS South-West, Zone D, said that the association is mobilizing to take decisive and lawful action by organizing peaceful picketing and mass advocacy against South African business interests operating in Nigeria.

“We categorically state that the continued targeting of Nigerians under any guise is unacceptable and must come to an immediate end.

N5m, N10m Zero-interest Loans: SheVentures Opens Applications For Women Entrepreneurs

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has opened a new round of applications for its SheVentures proposition, offering zero-interest loans of up to ₦10 million to women entrepreneurs to ease access to working capital and support business growth.

The facility provides loans ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦5 million under a general category, and ₦5 million to ₦10 million for sector-specific businesses, with funding capped at up to 50% of an applicant’s average monthly turnover.

At the centre of the offering is a 0% interest rate, with all charges embedded in a transparent structure.

Repayment is structured over four or six months, allowing businesses to match obligations with their cash flow cycles.
