Benin Mobile Court Sentences 23 For Illegal Parking, Trading In Unauthorized Place
A Mobile Court in Benin on Saturday sentenced 23 persons for illegal parking and displayed of wares in unauthorized places.
Out of the 23 sentenced, 16 persons were convicted for illegal parking, seven others for trading in unauthorized places.
The Prosecuting counsel, Mr I O Kadiri said that the 23 convicts were apprehended within Benin metropolis and they pleaded liable to the offences.

Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mr. Mutairu Oare ordered the 16 convicts who violated legal parking to pay fine of N25,000 each without option of fine.
Oare ordered other seven who were convicted for trading wares in unauthorized places to pay fine of N2,000 each or
carry out community service by clearing drains, grass cutting among others within King’s Square for one hour daily, in two days.
He, however, cautioned and discharged three other persons brought before the court.

The Chief Magistrate Oare said it was in line with the Correctional Centre of Non custodian regulation.
