It was a blood Sallah in Oyo and Anambra as no fewer than four persons were allegedly shot dead by stray bullet in Iseyin, Oyo State while two persons were crushed to death by a driver of an articulatedvehicle in Upper Iweka, Onitsha, Anambra State.
At Iseyin, the stray bullet from men of the Nigerian Customs Services (NCS) during a sporadical shooting left one other person seriously injured while the case was not different at the Onitsha incident.
It was gathered that, at the Iseyin incident, the Customs operatives started shooting after intercepting smuggled goods through the borders when they got into the town.
Some residents, who were out to enjoy Sallah celebration, were allegedly hit by stray bullets.

The incident caused pandemonium in the town as relations and friends of those affected protested.
When contacted, Public Relation Officers of Oyo/Osun Area Command of NCS, Kayode Wey, said he was not aware of the incident.
He said he was not sure if the Customs men were from his Command.
He, however, promised to get back as soon as he had information on the incident but was to do as the time of filing this report.
At Onitsha, it was learned the incident that claimed the two persons occurred around 12noon wherein a Mercedes trailer, a Toyota Hiace bus and a Mitsubishi L300 bus were involved.

It was gathered that the crash was caused by speed violation and loss of control by the trailer driver.
Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Utten Boyi, said the deceased have been deposited at the morgue.
He warned motorists to desist from excess speed especially in built-up areas and should use recommended speed limit of 50klm/hr.
He said: “A multiple fatal road traffic crash happened by down flyover upper Iweka this afternoon 13th May 2021, at about 1201hrs.
“The crash was between the unidentified driver of a Mercedes trailer with registration number SMK 728 DA, the unidentified driver of a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number HTE 791 XA and unidentified driver of a Mitsubishi L300 bus with registration number NNE 138 ZF.

“Eight persons were involved in the crash comprising of (5 male adults, 1 female adult and 2 male Children).
“One male adult sustained serious injury and was rushed to Toronto hospital by FRSC rescue team from Upper Iweka Command, while two other male adults were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty at the same hospital and they have been deposited at the morgue.”
