on

The body of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, killed in an Israeli air strike in southern Beirut, has been recovered, a source close to the movement told AFP on Sunday.

Friday’s air strike also killed Ali Karake, the group’s top commander in southern Lebanon, Hezbollah said on Sunday. It has not named others who died alongside Nasrallah and Karake.

A medical source and a security source said Nasrallah’s body was found intact at the site of an Israeli air attack on Beirut’s southern suburbs.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military, on Sunday, disclosed it has also killed Nabil Kaouk amid an exchange of strikes between the two sides. Kaouk had been a member of Hezbollah since the 1980s, previously serving as deputy director general of the southern region.

“His body was recovered on Saturday and was placed in a shroud on Sunday after being washed,” the source said, requesting anonymity. The funeral ceremony and his burial have not yet been arranged,” the source added.

Before his death on Friday when Israeli jets attacked Hezbollah’s heartland in the south of the Lebanese capital, Nasrallah was considered the most powerful man in the country. For more than three decades, he headed the Iran-backed movement that was Israel’s sworn enemy.

Israel’s military said on Sunday that “more than 20 other terrorists of varying ranks” were also killed in the attack.

Hezbollah has not commented on Kaouk’s fate, but supporters have been posting mourning messages for him since yesterday. “The IDF continues to attack and eliminate the commanders of the Hezbollah terrorist organisation and to act against anyone who threatens the citizens of the State of Israel,” said the Israeli military.

It said Kaouk had been a member of Hezbollah since the 1980s, previously serving as deputy director general of the southern region.

Israel’s army hits about 120 Hezbollah targets in latest Lebanon strikes.

The Israeli military said Sunday evening it hit dozens more Hezbollah targets in Lebanon during a new barrage “a short while ago”, as frequent cross-border air raids continued.

“During the intelligence-based strikes, the (air force) struck approximately 120 Hezbollah terror targets in southern Lebanon and deep inside Lebanese territory,” a military statement said, adding that the targets included Hezbollah’s infrastructure and “significant headquarters used by Hezbollah’s different units.”

How Thief Stole Aeroplane At Airport 22 Years After Two Men Went Away With Boeing 727

Published

on

To many, stealing an aeroplane right inside the airport with a watertight security system in place seems unbelievable, but a man in Canada stole a light aeroplane at an airport in the country, circled it around and later landed it before he was arrested by security officials.

This came 22 years after two men entered a Boeing 727 parked inside the airport in Luanda, the Angolan capital, and went away with the big aircraft.

According to reports, the aeroplane had not been found till today and the men had evaded arrest since then.

According to the Cable News Network (CNN), the stolen Cessna 172 aircraft caused a temporary shutdown of the airspace over Vancouver International Airport, one of the busiest in Canada, on Tuesday.

The man stole the aircraft, took off from Victoria International Airport, where it is used for flight training, and flew north about 40 miles to Vancouver.

He started circling, apparently due to his lack of expertise.

We do have an aircraft that has been stolen and is in the vicinity of the airport,” a tower controller warned other pilots.

The man eventually landed the plane safely at Vancouver International Airport and was immediately surrounded by police.

The thief, who was not identified by authorities, was the only person inside and was arrested.

A similar incident also occurred at Luanda International Airport, Angola, when two individuals successfully stole a Boeing 727 without any security official knowing about the theft until a few hours later.

The Boeing 727, once operated by American Airlines, was retired and left at Luanda airport after plans to convert it were rejected. In 2003, two men—a pilot and a mechanic—illegally boarded the plane and took off with 14,000 gallons of fuel, enough to travel 1,500 miles. The plane and the men were never found.

Russian Strikes Kill Six In Ukraine

Published

on

Russian drone and bomb fire killed at least six people across Ukraine’s east and south, local authorities said Friday, as Russia resists US President Donald Trump’s call to halt its invasion.

Moscow has escalated long-range aerial attacks on Ukraine’s towns and cities as well as frontline assaults and shelling over the past weeks, defying Trump’s warning it could face massive new sanctions if no peace deal is struck.

The latest strikes killed at least three people in the Dnipropetrovsk region — an important industrial mining territory under increasing pressure from Russia’s attacks.

A 52-year-old man was killed in another drone attack elsewhere in the region.

And in the Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions — all of which are partially occupied by Russian forces — attacks killed another three people.

Ukraine said Russia fired 35 long-range drones overnight — a relatively low number compared to the several hundred Moscow is capable of launching.
