Breaking: Gunmen Burn 20 House Over Supremacy Battle In Bayelsa Community

In what appeared to be a battle for supremacy by militant groups, gunmen on Sunday invaded Peremabiri community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State and set ablaze about 20 houses.

This is the second time in one week that gunmen who are said to be on reprisal attack will be burning houses in Peremabiri community.

Armed men had earlier on Christmas day attacked the home of an ex-militant leader, Paul Eris also known as Ogunbos, who is from the community and burnt down his private residence.

According to community sources, the armed men invaded the community in 50 speedboats and were allegedly on a mission to take over control of the community from an ex-militant leader, Ogunbos.

A local, said the gunmen chased out community members suspected to be loyal to Paul Eris and have taken over control of the town.

He said: “As I speak with you, many people are still hiding in the bush and many houses have been burnt down.

“The gunmen came in over 50 speedboats shooting sporadically and gained entrance into the community. People had no other option than to run into the bush for safety.

“Our intelligence report has it that the gunmen have vowed to remain in the community and ensure that Ogunbos and his followers never return to the community.

“I was told that the Christmas day attack on Ogunbos’s house was to drive him out of the town. And that today’s attack is aimed at taking total control of the community.” He said.

As at the time of filling the report, it was not ascertained if there was any casualty, as no family in the community had reported any yet.

When contacted, the police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat said he was still waiting for the detailed briefing from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the area.

Operatives of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission FCCPC on April 25, raided supermarkets in Port Harcourt, seizing underweight and re-bagged rice.

The commission disclosed this on its X handle.

It wrote:‘’FCCPC’s South-South Zonal Office conducted a routine enforcement operation in some supermarkets in the Woji area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, targeting underweight and re-bagged rice. Products that were suspected to be substandard were evacuated for further investigation.”

Outrage As Kingsmen Flogged Anambra Man To Death [VIDEO]

An elderly Igbo man has died after he was flogged and tortured by his kinsmen.

Mr. Kenneth, aged 60, died in Nza Ozubulu, Anambra State, hours after being brutally tortured.

A video of the assault has been shared online.

It shows two kinsmen flogging his naked body mercilessly while he cried for help and writhed in pain.

Blood, sweat, and tears mixed on his body as they flogged him.

His hands were bound behind him, preventing him from escaping.

“What did I do?” the man asked repeatedly.

The men flogging him told him that he stole.

Another video shows the man lying lifeless later. Dried blood and open wounds designed his entire body.

It was later announced that he has passed on.

Eyewitnesses claim Mr Kenneth was flogged because he allegedly sold a water tank in his family house and used the money to solve family issues.

Subsequently, his younger brother allegedly arrested him with a vigilante group. He was tortured for hours and died in the process.

Concerned Nigerians have called on the state governor and the police to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

They are also calling on the government to protect his bereaved wife and children who are being intimidated in their efforts to seek justice for Mr Kenneth.

Man Shoots Friend Dead For Taking Bite Of His Girlfriend’s Burger

A young man allegedly shot his friend dead for taking a bite out of his girlfriend’s burger in Pakistan, an investigation has concluded.

Suspect Daniyal Nazeer, named as the son of retired Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nazir Ahmed Mirbahar, is believed to have attacked his friend as an argument broke out at the accused’s house in Karachi.

An inquiry into the events of February 8 concluded on Wednesday that Ali Keerio, the son of a sessions judge, was likely shot with a guard’s rifle after brazenly daring to take a large chunk out of Nazeer’s girlfriend’s burger.

The accused was reported to have ordered two ‘zinger burgers’ for himself and his partner, Shazia, before Nazeer was sent into a rage over his friend’s indiscretion.

Keerio sustained ‘severe injuries’ after being shot, per local media, and succumbed to his wounds on the way to hospital.

Following a probe lasting more than two months, investigators concluded that the police officer’s son had likely lashed out over the burger incident.

‘Daniyal got into a serious fight with Ali over why he ate half of the burger without permission which was ordered for his girlfriend Shazia,’ the investigating officer confirmed, as reported by The Week.

‘We have arrested the accused and he is in jail pending trial,’ the officer added.

Ali Keerio was locally named as the son of Karachi District South sessions judge Javed Keerio.
