BREAKING: Rumbles In Edo PDP, South-South Vice Chairman, Orbih, Others Suspended

The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State got deepen as Chief Dan Osi Orbih, the National Vice Chairman, South-South of the party, was suspended from the party.
The former chairman of PDP in Edo State was reportedly suspended by leadership of Edo North Senatorial District for anti-party activities after a vote of ‘no confidence’ was passed on him.
He was reportedly suspended alongside five other members of the party from the senatorial district.
In a related development,
Ward 4, Oredo Local Government Area chairman of the party, Mr. Friday Enaruna Ihama, has been suspended for alleged anti-party activities too.
He has been replaced by Prince Courage Uyi Ogiefa.
The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki is a member of Ward 4, Oredo LGA.
The State Assistant Financial Secretary, Mr. Aroko Thomas, said the suspended chairman of the ward, Mr. Friday Enaruna Ihama, allegedly engaged in anti-party activities during and after the September 19 governorship election in 2020.
He said Mr. Ihama had since deployed different tactics to halt the progress of the party in the ward.
Mr. Thomas said the suspended chairman has been involved in a financial deal with the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last governorship election to the tune of N2.5 million.
“He has been frustrating the progress of the party in Ward 4. He has been frustrating the e-registration exercise of the party in the ward and failing to provide information about the process of e-registration. He also refused to register any new member in the ward despite the drive for membership,” he noted.

Mr. Thomas said for close to one year, the suspended chairman has failed to call for a meeting of members from the ward, which is a deliberate effort to destroy the PDP in the Governor’s ward.
Following the allegations against Mr. Friday Enaruna Ihama, the youth leader of the party in the ward, Mr. Osamede Obasuyi, moved a motion for the suspension of the Chairman, which was seconded by Mrs. Osasere Igbinovia, an ex-officio member. The motion was put to a voice vote, which the members present at the meeting approved.
Immediately after the suspension, the former secretary of the ward, Prince Courage Uyi Ogiefa was nominated to become the chairman and all members present, through a voice vote, confirmed him.
A committee was thereafter set up to investigate the allegations leveled against the suspended chairman.

Rivers: Fubara Cancelled 10,000 Jobs I Initiated For Youths – Wike Alleges

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State cancelling an employment process undertaken by his (Wike’s) administration which engaged 10,000 youths of the state.
Wike made this allegation on Wednesday at Ahoada main Town, during the ‘Renewed Hope Family thank you visit’ to Ahoada East Local Government Area.
He said his administration had employed 10,000 youths into different sectors of the state’s economy, but regretted that Fubara, his successor, sacked the beneficiaries.

He slammed Fubara for claiming the construction of Ahoada-Omoku and Emohua-Kalabari Road, which he said he had made 70 percent payment before handing over, describing the governor as “a bad child”.
“When I decided to dualise this Ahoada road, people thought it was impossible. But by the grace of God, today, Ahoada East, Ahoada Town, is coming back to be the city it is supposed to be. When I was a narcissist, I finished phase one of this dualisation.

“Then I flagged off phase two, which would end up in Omoku. The job was given the same day as the one of Emohua to the Kalabari area.
“I gave it to Julius Berger and we signed an agreement for Julius Berger to collect N4 billion every month from our IGR. The total amount of that road, and the one from Emohua to the Kalabari area, was about N80 something billion. So I said, if they collect four billion every month, that would give them 48 billion. That in two years time, they would have completed,” Wike said.
