…Slams Obaseki On Relocation Of Central Hospital
A Benin-based activist and founder, One Love Foundation, Comrade PatricK Eholor, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to honourable resign and apologise to Nigerians if he knows old age is telling on him in carrying out his statutory duty.
President Buhari had in an Interview with the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, on Thursday said working 8 hours every day has not been easy due to his old age, just as he admitted that age is really telling on him.
Reacting to the President’s comment in Benin on Friday while granting interview to journalists, the right activist said for Buhari to openly admit that age is telling on him, he expected him to resign without much ado.
He said Nigerians cannot afford to suffer for the next 17 months as claimed by Mr President, hence he should tender his resignation letter.
He said, “If a man come out clearly to tell you age is telling on him in carrying out his statutory duty, why can’t the man resign honourable. For Buhari to say we are going to suffer for the next 17 months, it is dangerous . He should therefore resign and apologise to Nigerians.”
He continues, “When he came to power, a dollar was bellow N200, but today a dollar is above N500. Everything has increased in price since Buhari assumed power, so he should graciously resign and apologise to us.”
On Mr President’s claim that he has put in his best over the past 6 years, Comrade Eholor said, “If he claims he has given his best in the past few years, then his best is not good enough for us.”
Speaking on the state of things in Edo particularly the much talked about relocation of the over 100 years Central Hospital by the state government, the activist said Obaseki was heading towards increasing COVID-19 virus in the state if he joins patients free from the virus to those infected and isolated at the Stella Obasanjo Hospital, Benin.
While noting that the World Health Organistion would not be happy with the Edo State Government on this single this act, Comrade Eholor added that all what being heard about the Central Hospital are speculations as the Obaseki-led Edo Government has refused to tell Edolites the real state of things as regards the hospital.

He said, “It is dangerous if the government is not communicating with us. I believe we have Commissioner for Information in Edo State. There are a lot of speculations as of what the Government wants to build in the hospital, and all these speculations ought not to be when we have government. Government suppose to tell the citizens what is being done for them.
“If it is true that Obaseki is relocating the patients in Central Hospital to Stella Obasanjo, he is in trouble. This is because the same people were relocated to Central Hospital when they made Stella Obasanjo Hospital an isolation centre. So, the World Health Organistion would not be happy, because it means Mr. Governor wants to increase the virus in the state instead of decreasing it.
“We are in a state of limbo. All these are happening and no one is asking the governor questions.”
On the recent invasion of an Edo community by suspected Fulani herders, the right activist said, “Godwin Obaseki is a very self centered man with his refusal to put in place an anti open grazing law. For not putting in place an anti grazing law, you will know that Godwin is an anti people Governor. People can’t go to farm any more in our state because their crops are being destroyed by Fulani herders; the women are being raped, our men are being killed by the same men.”
