EditorCristiano Ronaldo received a punch in the face during a friendly against Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday.
The 37-year-old captained a Saudi All-Star XI in Riyadh, with his long-term rival Lionel Messi also starting for the Ligue 1 giants.
Messi opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, but as they pressed for an equaliser, the Saudi side looked to Ronaldo’s world-famous heading ability.
However, as a cross was swung into the box, Ronaldo didn’t reckon with his former Real Madrid team-mate Keylor Navas, whose attempt to punch clear also saw him connect with Ronaldo’s face, thus giving away a penalty.

Ronaldo fell to the ground dazed, although he avoided serious injury. He, however, was left with a black eye.
He was soon back up on his feet to drill his spot-kick past Navas.

One player, 19, was reportedly spoken to by police on suspicion of assault and aiding and abetting a rape at the club stadium before he was formally arrested after leaving the grounds.
He was detained overnight and was later questioned by police under caution.

‘Both men have since been released on police bail.’
A club spokesman told The Sun yesterday: ‘As the matter is now in the hands of the police, the Football Club will not be making further comment at this stage.’
Police officers arrived at the stadium to speak to the footballer and spoke with him in a private room, a source told the paper.
They said the player left with another person and was arrested that night.

It is not the first time the Premier League has been at the centre of a police investigation over an alleged rape.
Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood, 22, was charged with attempted rape, assault and coercive behaviour in October 2022.
The case against him was subsequently dropped in February 2023 after key witnesses withdrew. Greenwood denied all the allegations against him.
After an internal club investigation, the decision was taken to send Greenwood out on loan to Spanish club Getafe.

Former Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick has died at the age of 84.
Keswick, a successful merchant banker, first joined the Gunners board as a director in 2005 before going on to take the mantle of chairman in 2013.
He served in that role until retiring in May 2020, though he maintained an interest in the club.

A club statement read: “It is with great sadness that the club reports the death of former Chairman, Sir Chips Keswick. A lifelong Arsenal supporter, he was a regular at Highbury after first standing in the boys’ enclosure in 1949 and listed his early heroes as the Compton brothers and Jimmy Logie but, above all, goalkeeper – and later manager – George Swindin, as young Chips was a budding schoolboy keeper himself.
“But it was in the banking industry Sir Chips made his name, where he was a very senior figure for many years, rising to become Chairman of Hambros Bank and also a Director of the Bank of England.
