Delta: Site Engineer Murdered By Employees, Police Arrest Two Suspects

The Delta State Command have opened investigations into the case of a site engineer identified as Chigozie Udalor Eho, who was murdered by his employees at a project site after they discovered he had a lot of money in his bank account.

The spokesperson of the Command, SP Bright Edafe, narrated that on December 12, 2024, one Hyacinth Nnalue reported to Akwu-kwu Igbo Police Division that his cousin had been missing since the December 10, 2024.

Nnalue also stated that Udalor was his site manager at his fish pond in Bod camp, Akwukwu Igbo community.

SP Edafe noted that upon receiving the information, the DPO commenced an investigation and later transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department.

Edafe said the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, directed the DPO, CSP Aliyu Shaba, to carry out a technically driven investigation.

“The DPO detailed the operatives who commenced an intelligence-led investigation, on 31st March 2025, they arrested one David Tacho ‘M’ who attempted to withdraw money from the victim’s account through his phone and also arrested Daniel Orshio who took part in the murder.

‘’Investigation also revealed that David Tacho is a brother to one Victor Tacho who conspired with Pius Daniel, (both presently at large) and Daniel Orshio, to murder the victim. The two suspects are presently in custody.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that all four suspects were employed by the deceased who was the site engineer, but they discovered he had some money in his Moniepoint account and they conspired, used a hammer to hit him on his head, tied him and buried him in a shallow grave at the site.

“Two of the suspects, David Tacho and Daniel Orshio, are presently in custody, while two other suspects, Pius Daniel and Victor Tacho, are still on the run,” Edafe explained.

The Police spokesman also disclosed that the body of the deceased has been exhumed and waiting autopsy, while efforts to arrest the other two suspects were ongoing.

Ogun Police Arrest Two Soldiers, Suspected Cultist, 19 Others During Midnight Raid

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two soldiers, a suspected armed cultist, and nineteen others during a midnight raid carried out at Hillton Hotel, Osiele, Abeokuta, in the Odeda local government area of the state.

The officers, comprising operatives from the Odeda Division, Aregbe Division, the Anti-Cultism Unit, and SWAT, led by SP Adejoh Israel, stormed the hotel at about 8:20 p.m. on Friday.

The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirming the incident to DAILY POST on Saturday, said the officers acted on credible intelligence.

Odutola disclosed that the operation was targeted at suspected members of the Aiye confraternity who were reported to have gathered at the hotel.

She said, “In the course of the operation, twenty-two (22) suspects were arrested, including two (2) soldiers, nineteen (19) male suspects, and three (3) females.

“Recovered from the suspects were one cut-to-size locally made gun, one UTC axe, and several blue beret caps associated with the cult group.

No casualties were recorded during the operation,” Odutola added.

The police spokesperson revealed that the arrested suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Anti-Cultism Unit, Eleweran, for further investigation.

Odutola, while reiterating the command’s commitment to fighting cultism and other violent crimes, appealed to residents to continue providing useful information to aid ongoing operations.

One baby, Adult Injured As Three-storey Building Collapses In Umuahia

Two persons, including a baby, have been injured in Umuahia, Abia State capital as a three-storey building collapsed at the Low-Cost Housing Estate in the city.

This is even as the Umuahia Capital Development Authority, UCDA has sealed up the premises of the collapsed building.

The General Manager of Umuahia Capital Development Authority, Mr Kingsley Agomoh who visited the scene, thanked God for saving the lives of two persons, including the baby.

He said that the occupants of the bungalow, which the three-storey building affected have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

The UCDA General Manager explained that the agency has commenced an investigation to ascertain the cause of the building collapse, pointing out that the appropriate punishment will be meted out to the owner in line with the law, adding that an integrity test will be conducted on the two three-storey buildings still standing on the premises.

Speaking to journalists on Saturday morning, some occupants affected by the building collapse Mr Ugwumba Shedrack and Nkechi Uzochi said that the incident happened at about 3am in the morning, explaining that the collapsed building belongs to a former Governorship candidate .

Also, an eyewitness and security man, Babayu Adamu, said the building showed some signs in the past and reinforcing measures were taken.

Missing 16-year-old Boy Found Dead With Head, Wrists, Heart Missing

The lifeless body of a 16-year-old boy identified as Lawal Wahab has been found by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command along the Old Express Road, Igbile-Ijebu.

His decomposed body was found with the head, both wrists, heart, and genitals gruesomely removed.

The Police Spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, in a statement obtained by DAILY POST, confirmed the incident on Saturday.

Odutola revealed that the deceased, who stayed with his grandmother, was earlier reported missing by his father, Mr. Lawal Olumide.

She stated that officers from the Omu-Ijebu Division, acting swiftly on credible intelligence, arrested a 25-year-old suspect identified as Salawu Omikansola, one Serefusi Agemo, and others in connection with the murder.

Odutola said, “Tragically, on July 23rd, 2025, his lifeless and decomposed body was discovered along the Old Express Road, Igbile-Ijebu.

“A preliminary examination revealed that the head, both wrists, heart, and genitals had been gruesomely removed, suggesting ritualistic motives.

Acting swiftly on credible intelligence, officers from Omu-Ijebu Division apprehended suspects identified as Salawu Omikansola (25 years) ‘m’, Serefusi Agemo ‘m’, and others in connection with the murder. One of the suspects made a voluntary confessional statement, which was also recorded on video.”

She added that the case, alongside exhibits, is being prepared for immediate transfer to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, for further discreet investigation, while the remains of the deceased were handed over to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

The command assured members of the public that justice will be served and urged all to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police formation.
