Edo-born Artiste Wants High Patronage For Local Music

Edo-born music artiste, Osato Vincent Ofona, has urged Nigerians to patronise local music, stressing that this will encourage players in the local music industry to do more.
Osato, who admitted that the patronage has increased when compared to past days, however said there was the need for more patronage of music made in local languages.
The local music artiste who made this known in an exclusive interview, said he had so far composed and produced several tracks in local language, expressing joy that they have been patronised in an encouraging manner.
“Today the narrative has changed, our people now patronize our local musical content more than it used to be. And in Edo State for instance, we are breaking through via our originality with our Esan, Afemai, Akoko-Edo, Benin.”
He continues, “I have successfully composed three musical albums of not less than five tracks. My first album has six tracks, the second has six also while the third album has five tracks, I’m working on another which in no distance time would be released.
“My music is being played by almost everyone who loves good things, not just by Benin or Edo people alone but by every Nigerians both home and abroad. I have performed outside Edo comfortably well in a relax mood. I have performed in the Eastern, Southern and Western parts of Nigeria. Before I began my own personal band, I had supported (backup) great musicians,m like Sister Naomi Ehigie, Dcn Permal Omoruyi and others. So I have come along way.”
Speaking on the COVID-19 pandemic, the fast-growing musician lamented that the pandemic forced him and other musicians and entertainers in the industry to stay at home thereby having nothing doing.
On his advice to some young Individuals who are still under apprenticeship in the music industry, Osato said though it might be tough but rough, there’s need for them to be focused.

Nigerian Musician Dies In Canada

Popular live music band leader, Akinloye Tofowomo popularly known as Akiin Shuga, has died at the age of 50.
His death was confirmed in a statement released by his family on Monday.
Akiin Shuga died on October 30, 2025, in New Brunswick, Canada.

The statement described the Shuga Band founder as “a revered music icon and custodian of rhythm, culture, and the spirit of performance”.
The family also said details of funeral arrangements will be revealed in due course.
In the meantime, they requested for “privacy and quiet reflection at this deeply difficult time”.
Akiin Shuga leaves behind his wife, children, siblings, and mother.

Jarvis Threatens To Sue Peller Over Money Laundering Allegation

Popular content creator and TikToker, Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, better known as Jarvis, has threatened legal action against her boyfriend, Peller.
Peller, who is also a TikTok star, had in a recent livestream named Jarvis among other TikTokers that laundered money through the platform’s gifting feature.
Reacting to the allegation, Jarvis management, Aiso Entertainment, tagged Peller’s claim as false.

Jarvis management in a statement shared on her social media page, threatened to sue Peller for defamation, noting that “such accusations are an attack on her character and legality, which deserve stringent legal action of this kind”.
“The management alongside her esteemed legal counsel, denies these allegations and we are currently exploring the possibility of initiating a defamation lawsuit against Mr. Peller,” the statement added.

A popular Kannywood actor, Mato Na Mato, also known as Malam Nata’ala, has reportedly passed away after a protracted illness.
