The Edo State governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Benin City on Friday dismissed the petition filed by the Action Alliance (AA) against the state governor, Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Recall that Info Daily had earlier reported that the petitioner failed to file for issuance of pre-hearing notice which is one of the conditions required by the Electoral Act 2010.
The tribunal consequentlyq adjourned to Friday, December 11( today), for ruling.
Dismissing the petition, the tribunal in an unanimous decision ruled that the petitioners abandoned theirWwaaq petition and dismissed the petition against the respondents.
Action Alliance and four other political parties are challenging the outcome of the September 19 Edo State governorship election that brought in governor Godwin Obaseki.
