Transporters in Edo State have thrown their weight behind Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Sept. 19 Edo Governorship election.

Thousands of members of the Association of Professional Drivers on Wheel, led by their President, Comrade Adams Ehi, also known as Shaba, defied the rain on Wednesday morning for a meeting where their endorsement for the APC candidate was publicly announced.

Comrade Ehi said the professional drivers decided to abandon their businesses to announce their endorsement of Ize-Iyamu because of their full conviction in his intention and ability to transform Edo State and develop infrastructure that would lift the state’s economy and ease the transportation of residents and other economic goods.

He said the Association has already begun mobilization of its members in all senatorial districts in the State to strengthen support for Ize-Iyamu and deliver a comprehensive victory for him at the polls.

Other drivers commended Ize-Iyamu for his promotion of human and infrastructural development, just as they attested to his positive contributions to the development of the state as the Secretary to the State Government and Chief of Staff.

According to them, his previous contributions, both as a public servant and private citizen, assure them that if elected, Ize-Iyamu will prioritize their needs and those of other Edo residents at the grassroots.

On his part, Ize-Iyamu thanked the Professional Drivers for their support and promised to ensure that no one would be left behind in his empowerment and development efforts to restore positive economic growth in the state.
