The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State on Saturday, July 3rd lifted the suspension of the party chairman in the state, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi.
Aziegbemi was suspended on June 1st, 2021 by the State Working Committee after a meeting held on the said date which was reportedly attended by 12 members of the exco.
Among allegations leveled against him by SEC was alleged raising of false alarm to the national secretariat of the party particularly on harmonisation of the state exco and other sundry issues.
A statement signed by Chris Nehikhare, Publicity Secretary of the party in the state which was made available to INFO DAILY said after a meeting held by the State Working Committee wherein report submitted by an Investigation Committee set up to investigate the allegations leveled against Dr. Aziegbemi was deliberated, he was exonerated and aquited.
“The State Working Committee of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo state has, after its working committee meeting called to deliberate on the report of the Investigative Committee set up to investigate the allegations of gross misconduct against its Chairman, Hon. Tony Aziegbemi, has exonerated and acquited him.
“The suspension has therefore been lifted,” the statement reads.
