EPL: Arteta To Sell Seven Arsenal Players [Full List]

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, is willing to let at least seven players leave the club this summer, the UK Sun reports.

The Gunners’ record signing Nicolas Pepe is set to head the queue.

Pepe arrived at the Emirates from Lille in 2019 in a deal worth £72m. The Ivorian winger has scored just 16 goals in 80 league appearances for the club.

He is spending the current season on loan at Nice.

Pepe is one of seven players currently out on loan who could be in line for permanent exits.

The others are Albert Sambi Lokonga, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Cedric Soares, who are all playing for Premier League clubs.

Abroad, Nuno Tavares is with Marseille, while Alex Runarsson is at Alanyaspor and Pablo Mari is in Italy with Monza.

All of the players may find themselves looking for new clubs once those deals come to an end.

Ighalo Makes Saudi Team Of The Season

Despite his impressive goal record for Al-Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been omitted from the Saudi Pro League team of the season, as Nigerian striker Jude Ighalo leads the frontline instead.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also finished as the Saudi Pro League’s fifth top scorer for the season with his 14 goals.

However, upon their decision to name the league’s Team of the Season, sport statistic gurus OPTA chose not to include Ronaldo.

Instead, former Manchester United and now Al Hilal striker Odion Ighalo leads the attack thanks to his 19 goals in 27 games.

FIFA Releases Women Football Rankings

Nigeria have moved two places in the latest FIFA women’s rankings released by the Federation of International Football Association, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Super Falcons, who were ranked 42nd in the world in the ranking released in March, gained three points to move to 40th.

Randy Waldrum’s side maintained their first position in Africa.

The Falcons’ rise in the rankings was largely due to their impressive performance at the exhibition in Turkey.

The Nigeria senior women’s national team won three consecutive games after snapping out of their seven-match winless run to continue their preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup scheduled to hold from July 20 to August 20.

The ranking released by FIFA on Friday is the final before the 2023 Women’s World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand next month.

Alongside the Falcons, South Africa, Morocco and Zambia will represent Africa at the women’s World Cup.

The next ranking will be published on August 25.
