EPL: Everton Ready To Replace Lampard With Man Utd Legend

Everton are trying to convince Wayne Rooney to replace Frank Lampard as their manager.

Lampard was dismissed on Monday with the Toffees in a run of bad form.

Goal reports the Premier League side have now made informal contact with Rooney.

Rooney is currently in charge of DC United in the MLS, but has serious reservations about returning to England and taking over at Goodison Park.

The former Manchester United striker has previously revealed he turned down the opportunity to manage Everton in January 2022 before Lampard was appointed.

Everton approached my agent and asked me to interview for the job,” he said at the time.

“But I turned it down. I believe I will be a Premier League manager and I am ready for that 100 per cent. But I have a job at Derby, which is important to me.”

Manchester United legend, Patrice Evra, has revealed what he loves most about the club’s January signing, Marcel Sabitzer.

Sabitzer joined Man United on loan from Bayern Munich for the remainder of the season.

The 28-year-old is yet to make his debut for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Speaking to Betfair, Evra said what he loves most about Sabitzer was that the midfielder scores goals from outside of the box.

The Frenchman said, “Even if he has not played in a United shirt, Marcel Sabitzer’s work rate is quite impressive.

Chelsea boss, Graham Potter, has explained when he decided to hand Enzo Fernandez his full debut against Fulham.

Fernandez starts in midfield as the Blues seek to improve their 10th place in the Premier League.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the game about when he decided to hand Enzo Fernandez an immediate start: “As soon as the paperwork came through and we know he can play and he is able to do it, it was clear.

“He is an impressive young man, great character, personality and I’m looking forward to seeing him play.”

Hakim Ziyech also starts, only days after his loan move to Paris Saint-Germain collapsed.

Chelsea boss, Graham Potter, has heaped praises on the club’s latest new signing, Enzo Fernandez.

Fernandez recently joined Chelsea on January transfer deadline day from Benfica.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League tie with Fulham on Friday night, Potter described the Argentina World Cup winner as a fighter.
