EPL: Man City’s Foden Names Toughest Player He Ever Faced

Manchester City star Phil Foden has named Chelsea captain Reece James as his toughest opponent ahead of both teams’ Premier League clash on Sunday.

Foden will be hoping to lead Man City to victory when they face Chelsea in an away Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Speaking with Sky Sports’ Olivia Buzzaglo during a Q&A session, Foden, 23, named James as his toughest opponent.

Buzzaglo posted on X (formerly Twitter):
“I’ve just finished a Q+A with the lovely Phil Foden and he said the toughest full-back he’s ever played against is Reece James.”

Foden and James have faced each other eight times during their professional careers, including at U18 level.

Foden has been on the winning side three times while losing on four different occasions.

Cristiano Ronaldo Officially Engaged, Set To Get Married

Georgina Rodríguez has confirmed that she is engaged to Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

She revealed this in a post on social media on Monday.

Ronaldo met Georgina in a Madrid fashion store, and they have been together for almost 10 years.

The couple have two children together, with Rodríguez acting as stepmother to his other three children.

They have been repeatedly bombarded with questions over the years about when they would get married.

Georgina posted a photo of a large ring on her wedding finger and wrote: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”

Ronaldo had previously said they were not married yet because the timing was not “quite right.”

Salah Slams UEFA For Omitting Cause Of Palestinian Footballer’s Death In Tribute

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has criticised Europe’s football governing body UEFA for posting a tribute to “Palestinian Pele” Suleiman al-Obeid that did not mention that the former international died after being hit by Israeli gunfire in the Gaza Strip.

Obeid, 41, was killed on Wednesday when Israeli forces “targeted people waiting for humanitarian aid in the southern Gaza Strip”, the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) said in a statement.

Europe’s football governing body UEFA posted on X: “Farewell to Suleiman al-Obeid, the ‘Palestinian Pele’. A talent who gave hope to countless children, even in the darkest of times.”

Egyptian striker Salah responded by posting: “Can you tell us how he died, where, and why?”

Born in Gaza City, Obeid was married and had five children. He played 24 international matches for the team Palestine.

In October 2023, Salah called on “world leaders to come together” to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza to “prevent further slaughter of innocent souls”.

Since the start of the Gaza war, triggered by Palestinian militant group Hamas’s October 2023 attack on Israel, 662 people from the sport and scouting sector have been killed, including 321 in the football community, according to the PFA.

Salah, who was the Premier League top scorer last season, is due to line up for Liverpool on Sunday in the Community Shield at Wembley against Crystal Palace, the traditional curtain-raiser to the English football season.
