Award-winning Hip-Hop artistes, Falz and Vector, have slammed the Independent National Electoral Commission, for its “inadequacies” in the recently-concluded 2023 elections.

In a track titled ‘Yakubu’, the rappers knocked the chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, for alleged malpractices that characterised the elections.

Released Thursday, the song referenced the failed promise made by the commission to transmit the results of the elections in real-time via its result viewing portal, known as IReV portal.

Falz is no stranger to politically conscious and satirical music aimed at the government. The National Broadcasting Corporation banned his hit song ‘This is Nigeria’ from airwaves in August 2018.

The record, which sampled American Rapper, Childish Gambino’s ‘This is America,’ was tagged “vulgar” and “unfit for radio” due to a line in the song that read, “This is Nigeria/ Look how we living now/ Everybody be criminal.”
