Floods Claim Six Pupils In Edo
No fewer than six lives have been lost to flooding in recent time in Edo State State, member representing Egor Constituency in Edo State House of Assembly, Natasha Osawaru, revealed in plenary.
She said during plenary that the floodings which have continuously ravaged Evbotubu Primary School has so far claimed the lives of six pupils of the school.
She said that the school has been relocated due to its deplorable condition caused by the floodings.
She noted that the massive stagnant water around the affected school and other areas of the community could be channeled to the state Water Storm to ease movements, as she implored her colleagues to support her motion.
The Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku sympathized with the people in the area especially families of the pupils who lost their lives to the flooding, which has become a recurrent situation whenever it rains turning the area to a death trap.

The House thereafter adopted a resolution calling on the state government through the ministry of environment and other relevant agencies to as a matter of urgency curb the ecological problems affecting Evbotubu Community.
The Speaker directed the clerk of the House, Alhaji Yahaya Audu Omogbai to forward clean copies of the resolution to the appropriate bodies.
Other members unanimously supported the motion, describing it as timely.
They said that ecological problems is a state-wide problem, as they called on relevant agencies to swiftly tackle the issue of floodings affecting Evbotubu Community and other communities.
