Four Barcelona Players Against Messi’s Return To Camp Nou Revealed

EditorFour Barcelona players are reportedly against the idea of the Spanish La Liga leaders re-signing their former captain Lionel Messi.
According to El Nacional, the four players opposing Barcelona’s plan to bring Messi back to the club are Robert Lewandowski, Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele, and Marc Andre-Ter-Stegen.
The report added that Lewandowski wants to be the star of Barcelona and lead their attack next season.
But the Poland international knows that he will have to adjust his style to suit Messi’s style or suffer a similar fate to that of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a former Barcelona striker.
Fati has had the number 10 jersey since Messi’s departure from Barcelona to join Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spaniard, who is reluctant to let go of the jersey, knows his future at Barcelona is already in the balance and the belief is that he will be sold to make space.

Dembele is reportedly against Messi’s return because he will have to make a way in the starting XI. The France international wants to start every week and knows it will be impossible with the Argentina World Cup winner in the squad.
Ter Stegen, meanwhile, has not had a good relationship with Messi. The German goalkeeper had issues with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner and believes Barcelona manager Xavi will take away his captaincy (4th choice) once Messi arrives at Camp Nou.

One player, 19, was reportedly spoken to by police on suspicion of assault and aiding and abetting a rape at the club stadium before he was formally arrested after leaving the grounds.
He was detained overnight and was later questioned by police under caution.

‘Both men have since been released on police bail.’
A club spokesman told The Sun yesterday: ‘As the matter is now in the hands of the police, the Football Club will not be making further comment at this stage.’
Police officers arrived at the stadium to speak to the footballer and spoke with him in a private room, a source told the paper.
They said the player left with another person and was arrested that night.

It is not the first time the Premier League has been at the centre of a police investigation over an alleged rape.
Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood, 22, was charged with attempted rape, assault and coercive behaviour in October 2022.
The case against him was subsequently dropped in February 2023 after key witnesses withdrew. Greenwood denied all the allegations against him.
After an internal club investigation, the decision was taken to send Greenwood out on loan to Spanish club Getafe.
