Inline with the directive of the national body of the Ijaw National Congress, INC, the ancient Furupagha clan of the Ijaw nation has elected new clan executives of the INC to pilot the affairs of the clan in the next few years.
Furupagha clan covers Ijaw communities in Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State and Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
In the election conducted in the clan recently, High Chief Tuedor Amos emerged as chairman, while Chief Somi Miye emerged as Vice Chairman; Warela Muje, Secretary; Karisai Bohan (Mrs.), Treasurer, while Moses Kurumah emerged as Financial Secretary.
Others are: Pere-Izimo Odushu, Public Relations Officer (PRO); Chief Iguo-Ebi, Auditor; Buinte Martins, Assistant Secretary; Joseph Tuedor, Assistant Financial Secretary, and High Chief Pascal Akpofagha, Ex-Official.
Meanwhile, the traditional ruler of the clan, His Royal Majesty, Pere Ikiyouseigha Bohan, Atunkpokubu XIII, has sent a congratulary message to the newly elected executives, praying God and the ancestors to guide them in their doings as they champion the course of the clan at the INC level.
The Pere has also written the national secretariat of the INC, the apex body of the Ijaw nation, giving his approvals and showering his blessings upon the newly elected executives, saying the executives are the ones elected and recognised by the stool and the entire clan.
The Pere’s letter to the national secretariat of the INC, which was exclusively made available to INFO DAILY, is coming after some ‘unscrupulous’ persons in the clan alleged to have projected some persons as executives in some quarters as a way of causing confusion.
“All the above named persons have my Royal blessings to pilot the clan’s affairs in the next few years to come,” the Pere letter reads in part.
