No fewer than one million (1,000,000,000) persons have benefited from the free daily feeding of Godsent Foundation’s free feeding programme since it inception five years ago.

The charity organisation, since it inception, had also taken from the streets a quite large number indigent children and offered them free education in the organisation’s owned school.

President, Godsent Foundation, Ambassador Dion Osagie, made the disclosure while fielding questions from Benin-based journalists via online at the occasion of Godsent Foundation reunion held at Barcelona, Spain.

The President who said currently the Foundation has not less than 207 students from pre KG to Junior Secondary School (JSS III) who are going through free education in the Foundation’s school, added that the dream is to have a standard school where indigent children will enjoy free education to the fullest.

While noting that most of the children under free education were picked in the streets by his foundation and that the first set numbering 11 students have graduated, Dr. Osagie said if Nigeria can have a system whereby at least one child is taken off the streets, it will go a long way in addressing the insecurity bedeviling the country and other vices.

He added: “Prosperity is possible if we can come together. If we can remove one person from the streets every month, it is a big plus to addressing insecurity in Nigeria; it is a plus to developing the state and county. So, Godsent Foundation meeting this year in Barcelona is a way to show where we are coming from.

“Godsent Foundation owns the only free school in Edo State. The school is operated by Godsent Foundation family. As we have one in Edo State, we can have in each local governments. And this is why we are meeting this year to see how we can move our school forward,” he added.

He continued: “Our free school has pre-KG, and KG1 to 3, primary 1-6 and JSS 1-3. Our goal is to have a standard school that will offer tuition-fee free education for all.

“We believe that education is the key to a better life. If we want to groom good leaders in Nigeria, we must offer them quality education. And it makes me very sad that many young persons are not in school because of the failure of government.”

According to him, over a 100 children who were picked from the streets by Godsent Foundation have reunited with their respectively families and likewise doing well.

He disclosed that since the founding of the Foundation and all the good works done, not a single dime has been received from the government.

He added: “It may shock you to know that since we have been doing this programme far back five years ago, we have not received a dime from the government. It may also surprise you to know that we have not received any form of support from government. And this is a programme that has helped government solve more than 10000 cases.
