Guild Confirms Release Of Kidnapped Actors

The Actors Guild of Nigeria has confirmed the release of two of its members, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel (Agbogidi), who were abducted in Enugu State.

In a release shared by Monalisa Chinda Coker, the Guild’s Director of Communication, on Wednesday, the association informed the public that the abductors were “touched by the spirit of God” and set the Thespians free.

The statement read in part, “This is to inform the public that the kidnapped actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, have been released, unhurt. The elated National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie Rollas, announced their release by the abductors who were touched by spirit of God to set them free and unharmed.

“The guild has arranged for medical checks and psychological support for the victims.

“On behalf of their families, the National President expressed our heartfelt appreciation to the Nollywood industry and Nigerians at large for the support and prayers during this trying period.

“He urged members to be security conscious on and off movie sets and always take precautionary measures on their security at all times.”

Okereke and Agbodigidi were declared missing on Saturday when family members could not reach them after working on a film set.

Their abductors afterwards reached out, demanding a ransom of $100,000, which the Guild’s National President, Ejezie Rollas, stated could not be raised, in an interview with Sunday Scoop.

According to Rollas, while a sum of N1.2million was raised, the abductors mocked their efforts.

The Nigerian movie industry has again been thrown into mourning after the news of the death of another veteran Yoruba Actor Ganiyu Oyeyemi popularly known as Ogunjimi, surfaced on social media on Friday.

Ogunjimi’s death was announced by a Yoruba actor, Kunle Afod, in a post on his Instagram page.

Mourning the actor, Afod wrote, “We tried our best but God loves you more.

“May his soul rest in peace. Baba Ogunjinmi, RIP, Sun re oooo.”

At the time of writing this report, the cause of death has not yet been ascertained.

American singer, Billie Eilish has opened up on her sexuality, giving out a more graphic detail in a new interview.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Billie discussed her forthcoming song, “Lunch”, in which she shared details of being intimate with another woman. She said she began writing the song before doing anything with another girl but was able to finish it after one eye-opening encounter with a female.

The singer said: “I’ve been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn’t understand, until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina.

“I was never planning on talking about my sexuality ever, in a million years. It’s really frustrating to me that it came up.”

Billie now seems far more comfortable talking about sex, including the topic of masturbation. In the interview, she confessed to pleasuring herself regularly in front of a mirror, stating it helps with her self-esteem.

She added: “Partly because it’s hot, but it also makes me have such a raw, deep connection to myself and my body, and have a love for my body that I have not really ever had.

“People should be jerking it, man. I can’t stress it enough, as somebody with extreme body issues and dysmorphia that I’ve had my entire life.”

Nollywood Actor, Zulu Adigwe Is Dead

Veteran Nollywood actor, Zulu Adigwe has reportedly passed on.

Adigwe is said to have died on Tuesday evening.

His death was announced in an Instagram post by Movie producer, Stanley Nwoko.

I regret to announce the passing of a veteran actor, late Mr Zulu Adigwe.

“What caused his death is yet to be reviewed. Rest in peace good actor,” he added.

During his career, Adigwe was famous in the movies: “Living in Bondage”, “Breaking Free”, and many others.

Nollywood has lost six of its actors in 2024.

They are Sisi Quadri, Mr. Ibu, Amaechi Muonagor, Andy Best, Jumoke Aderounmu and Junior Pope.
