How Renowned Islamic Scholar Bello Died, Brother Speaks

A renowned Islamic preacher, Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani-Bello, has passed away.

The most respected Islamic Scholar died in the early hours of today (Friday) at a private hospital in Ibadan, where he had been receiving treatment for malaria.

His death was confirmed by his cousin, Dr. Abdulmumeen Ajani-Bello, who shared that the respected Islamic scholar had just celebrated his 86th birthday a few weeks ago.

Sheikh Ajani-Bello was born into the family of Alhaji Bello Ajani and Alhaja Ubaidat Bello of Arolu Compound, Ita Olukoyi, Ibadan.

He received his early education at I.D.C. Primary School and later at the same school for his secondary education in Ibadan.

He pursued further studies at the Islamic Institute, Nigeria, Elekuro, Ibadan, from 1963 to 1967, where he gained in-depth knowledge of Arabic and Islamic teachings.

His passion for Islamic propagation began at a young age, as he started preaching across Ibadan city at just 10 years old.

Sheikh Ajani-Bello went on to become an Arabic and Islamic teacher in various secondary schools across Oyo, Ogun, and Kano states.

He also served as the Chief Missioner for the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria in Kano State.

A respected scholar, Sheikh Ajani-Bello was frequently invited by individuals and Islamic organizations to deliver lectures on Islam, both within Nigeria and internationally, including in the United Kingdom, the United States, and several African nations.

He is survived by his wives, children, and grandchildren. His burial is scheduled for today at his Akobo residence in Ibadan, after the Asr prayer, in accordance with Islamic rites.

A Sharia Court in Kaduna, Kaduna State, has dissolved a two-year-old marriage between a couple, Harira Sanusi and Aliyu Yunusa.

The judge, Malam Salisu Abubakar-Tureta dissolved their marriage following a petition for divorce filed by Harira.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Harira accused Aliyu of calling her parents names and humiliating her.

My Husband Threw Me Out After 17yrs of Marriage —Wife

A housewife, Lawal Modupe, has approached an Upper Area Court sitting at Kubwa, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), seeking the dissolution of her 17-year-old marriage to her husband, Ismaila on the grounds of lack of love and affection.

Modupe told the court that she got married Ismaila according to Islamic laws.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the mother of three stated that her husband sent her out of their matrimonial home on June 17, 2023.
