I Sent Armed Robbers To Steal My Boyfriend’s Gold – Delta Girl Confesses

A 24-year-old lady, Jessica Anthony, has confessed that she, alongside her friend identified as Ada, contacted armed robbers to rob and steal her boyfriend’s gold.

Jessica is cooling her heels in the custody of the Delta State Police Command with her friend in Asaba.

She said if the armed robbers had succeeded in robbing and selling the gold, they would have given the money to her.

I asked the bad guys to go there to collect his gold. They would have sold it and given the money to me,” Jessica said.

She said she asked the armed robbers to rob her boyfriend’s house because she needed money to offset her sister’s bills.

Jessica, a secondary school dropout, also said she will feel bad if it was her boyfriend that did same act to her.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, who narrated the incident while parading the suspects, said Jessica and her boyfriend had been dating before they broke up and after a while, they came back together in December 2025.

In fact, they were intimate December last month. Lo and behold, she (Jessica) in connivance with her friend, went to one of the black spots we have in Warri trying to locate any of the bad guys.”

Edafe said Jessica pleaded with the robbers to help rob her friend.

The police spokesman added, “Am not sure if she told them the person was her boyfriend. But unfortunately for her, the person she met happened to be the leader of that community who has been helping the police to ensure that these bad guys are flushed out of the community.

“Unfortunately for her also, he happened to know the guy because they asked for the guy’s picture. Upon bringing the picture, it happened to be someone they knew. He quickly contacted him that somebody has come to us that we should come and rob you.

“The boyfriend now said ok. Please, just play along. So, they played along, they told her that the money that they will need to buy tools is around N65,000.

“She transferred N50,000 through POS and gave them the cash of N15,000 making it the N65,000. They played along.

“She actually took them to the estate where the boyfriend lives, showed them the house of the boyfriend. It was when they were coming back from the estate that the boyfriend alerted the security of the estate and they were all arrested and she opened up.

“The said boyfriend said one of his gold bracelets cost N4.2 million. He said the other gold cost N8.9 million. He said, ‘I feel heartbroken because I never expected it from her.”

Ex-convict Arrested In Edo For Armed Robbery, Possession Of Firearm

The Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) has arrested a 45-year-old ex-convict, Owen Osas, for alleged unlawful possession of firearms and suspected involvement in a robbery incident.

Osas was reportedly arrested with a cut-to-size single-barrel gun during a covert operation along Fishpond Road in Eyean, Uhunmwonde Local Government Area.

The arrest reportedly comes barely a year after he was released from prison, where he had served time for illegal possession of firearms and other criminal offences.

Osas, who confessed to the latest crime, also admitted to being a member of the Eiye Confraternity.

Consequently, a victim of an alleged robbery incident, Reginia Izy, identified Osas as the person who robbed her a day before his arrest.

The victim narrated that the suspect had approached her residence around 8 p.m., pretending to be familiar before carrying out the attack.

‎The Deputy Commander Operations of ESSC, Richard Balogun, said the arrest was part of intensified efforts to rid Edo State of criminal elements.

‎Balogun explained that operatives conduct both overt patrols and covert operations to track and apprehend suspects.

He said, ‎“Our men are always on patrol. Some operate in plain clothes as part of covert strategies, while others are stationed at strategic locations.

“Osas, who is a former convict, was arrested with firearms and he also confessed to be a member of the Eiye Confraternity.”

Gunmen Kidnap Businessman In Ibadan

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a 60-year-old man in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The victim was kidnapped on Saturday while on his way to his residence.

The incident occurred at Jinarere, Alakia in Ibadan.

Public Relations Officer of the State Police command, Olayinka Ayanlade, when contacted, confirmed the incident.

Tragedy As Suspected Kidnappers Kill Young Entrepreneur In Edo

A 30-year-old entrepreneur and CEO of Principle Takeout, Justice Abu Oshioke, has been killed by suspected kidnappers in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.

He was reportedly attacked by the suspected kidnappers on Saturday while on his way to pick up an order made for his child’s dedication on Sunday morning.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers attempted to force him into a nearby bush in a kidnapping attempt. However, he reportedly resisted and tried to escape.

In the course of the struggle, the assailants opened fire, shooting him multiple times.

The shocking development has left the Ekpoma community in deep sorrow, with many residents expressing outrage over the growing insecurity in the area.

Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem confirmed the incident and said the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika has ordered a “full-scale investigation and intensified manhunt for those responsible.” 

According to her, the Police, in collaboration with the military, local vigilantes, and hunters, are actively pursuing the perpetrators through coordinated operations.
