ISWAP Kills 8 Boko Haram Members, Seizes Large Quantities Of Ammunition



About eight insurgents have been reportedly killed when Boko Haram fighters clashed with members of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) faction of the terrorists in the fringes of the Lake Chad.

The ISWAP also seized large quantities of ammunition in the inter-rivalry clash which occurred on October 6, when a team of the ISWAP group attacked and inflicted a huge casualty on its adversary at Krinowa axis in the North East of Marte in Borno State.

An intelligence source told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad that 12 Boko Haram fighters were returning from Marte after receiving large quantities of weapons from the camp of the Boko Haram Amir Jay’s, Bakura Wulgo.

The Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād, Boko Haram terrorists had despatched a 12-man team from Gaizuwa, in Bama to go in search of weapons after suffering devastating defeat and losses due to the sustained intensified intelligence-led Air Strikes, heavy artillery bombardment and ground, offensives by the Nigerian Military troops of Operation Hadin Kai.

The Boko Haram terrorists occupying Gaizuwa, otherwise known as Gabchari, Mantari and Mallum Masari had lost almost all its weapons, vehicles and motorcycles leaving the badly depleted fighters vulnerable for attacks by the Nigerian troops, as well as the ISWAP rival fighter led by Ba’ana Chigori in the area.

The sources said that eight terrorists were killed in the ambush, three terrorists including Goni Gado, Abou Adam and Abou Abubakar returned to Gaizuwa at about 12pm on Friday October 7, with bullets wounds, while one other was either missing or dead.

In the same vain, the Boko Haram leadership held a brief meeting and despatched another team of 11 fighters led by one Amir Baba Kaka to seek support from Amir Jaichige a terror kingpin who was under the leadership Ali Ngoshe, in the axis of Mandara Mountains.

“The Boko Haram had cried out that the ISWAP may soon take over all its camps and urged other JAS fighters to help them from collapsing,” the sources said.



Court Frowns At Cyber Bullying Of Engr.  Akpotowho




A Benin High Court presided over by Justice Igho Patricia Braimoh has adjourned for hearing the case of enforcement of fundamental human rights instituted by Engr chukwudi Akpotowho to April 30th, 2024.

Engr Akpotowho is named as a Defendant in the case of aiding the suicide of Lilian Omokhuale the daughter of Francis Omoruyi Oloton, a business mogul and chief executive officer of Uyi Technical company limited.

Engr Akpotowho in suit no B/529M/2023, which was filed on the 23rd November 2023, through Eghosa Aganmwonyi Esq, the leading counsel to the Applicant, said the case which was meant for mention requested for accelerated hearing and the protection of the applicant.

Bar Aganmwonyi further requested for the protection of the court for the Applicant whom he said is being harassed and subjected to unwarranted arrest by the Respondents coupled with cyber bullying and trial.

Justice Briamoh called for restraint on the side of the 1st to 5th respondents in their investigation, as well as the media so as not to jeopardize the case before the court.

The Inspector General of Police,
Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5, Commissioner of Police, Edo State, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Department Of State Security, Edo Command and
Elder Francis Omoruyi Oloton are Respondents in the suit.

Recall that 40years old Lilian Omokhuale on 7th October 2022 allegedly committed sucide in Government Resevation Area, GRA, Benin City, prompting the police to commence investigation.

According to police investigation the deceased, Lilian Omokhuale statement of account from four different banks revealed that she spent about One Hundred and Eight Million, Eight Hundred and Seventy Two Thousand, Five Hundred and Fifty Naira ( ₦ 108,872,550.00) on online beting

The deceased Lilian Omokhuale took her own life by the ingestion of obnoxious substance known as snipper into her body.

She was involved in money transactions with her creditors namely; Jessica Iguodala Oghomwem, Engr. Chukwudi Apotowho, Akpes Omorodion, Vincent Uhunmwangho, Joy Noren and Blessing Jatto.

The case was mentioned Tuesday at the Benin High Court, Edo state, based on a Motion on Notice brought pursuant to Order 45 Rule 4 of the Edo state High Court (Civil procedures) Rule 2018 and under the inherent jurisdiction of the honourable court, hearing continues on April 30.

JUST IN: Tragedy Averted In Benin As Heavy-duty Trucks Falls, Destroys Vehicles, High-tension Cables




Tragedy was averted at Reservation Road, front of Nigerian Correctional Service Headquarters Benin, on Friday when Crane said to have been brought from Abuja for site work fell off its Lowbed meant for carrying it.

The Crane was said to have been brought from Abuja to fix some irons at the Edo Museum for West Africa Arts- EMOWAA ARCHAEOLOGY PAVILION – situated on the land where Edo Central Hospital was sited.

The Crane was said to have finished its work and was about climbing its Lowbed (Truck meant to carry it) when it suddenly fell off the truck and destroyed high-tension cables belonging to power distribution company.

The incident happened a stone throw away from the EMOWAA ARCHAEOLOGY PAVILION.

The driver of the Crane was said to be inside the Crane and was trying to set it on the Lowbed when one of the tyres suddenly tripped off leading to the Crane falling off the Lowbed.

The driver has been rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

High-tension cables pulled down by the Crane also destroyed a car parked by vehicles plying Government House whose park is exactly where the incident happened.

Officials of the company who were on site declined comment but the driver of the Lowbed who wouldn’t want his name mentioned spoke in Pidgin English: “He don finish work ooo, and I say make I carry am dey go Abuja. No, the tyres balance, we no just know wetin happen, but thank God say him no die, we don rush am go hospital.”

EFCC Arrests 48 Kwara Varsity Students For Internet Fraud




Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested 48 students of the Kwara State University and two others for offences bordering on internet fraud.

EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

According to the statement, the suspects were arrested on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at their various hideouts, after days of surveillance, adding that they will be arraigned in court when investigations are concluded.

Items recovered from the suspects, according to the statement, included laptops and different brands of phones.

The statement read, “Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 48 students of the Kwara State University, KWASU, and two others for offences bordering on internet fraud.

“They were arrested on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in their various hideouts after days of surveillance and fruitful intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet-related offences.

“Items recovered from the suspects include nine exotic cars, 24 laptops, and different brands of phones. The suspects will soon be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigations.”

A week ago, the anti-graft agency also arrested 14 individuals suspected of internet fraud at a “Yahoo Academy” in Makurdi.

In a statement on its official X handle, the EFCC said, acting on intelligence, operatives from the Makurdi Zonal Command raided a three-bedroom apartment along Achusa Road, Benue State, believed to be a training centre for internet fraud trainees.
