Jegede Tasks Lions In Newly Bifurcated District 404-A4 To Work Diligently

The Pioneer District Governor of District 404-A4, Lion Dr. Kofoworola Jegede has tasked Lions in the newly bifurcated District 404-A4 to work diligently to achieve the goals set for the New Lions Year.

The District Governor who reeled out the goals in a message to mark the New Lions Year today in Akure, the Ondo state capital, also used the occasion to unveil the service calendar.

She stated that the theme of the new Lions Year is, “Together in Service” while the theme chosen by the International President Lion Dr.Patti Hill is “Changing the World.”

The District Governor announced that the international logo will be unveiled during the July Convention in Boston.

“We are going for Excellence. I implore you all to work diligently with the District Service Coordinators to sustain the clubs to enable us have service without stress,” She stated.

On membership goals, the District Governor reiterated the resolve not to drop members, saying new members should be rather added to clubs to grow the District.

Also speaking on formation of new clubs, she stated that the target of the District is to form six clubs, announcing that four clubs were already formed.

The District Governor thanked the Past Council Chairperson, Lion Olumuyiwa Tokunbo Jegede for his contribution in service.

She stated that under his tutelage three clubs were formed, urging Lion leaders across board to take a cue to ensure new clubs are formed and sustained.

“All eyes, even from Oak Brook, are on us by reason of the fact that we are a new District under the bifurcation exercise, so we cannot afford to fail. Despite the economic challenge, we have a lot to achieve if we work diligently as a team, and we will make impact and have fun while doing so. “

Dr Kofoworola Jegede craved the support of all Lions in the District to nurture the District to enviable heights and appreciated all coordinators and members of her team, including Past District Governors, Lion Pat Udeme, Lion Fortune Wagbatsoma, among others, urging them to be relentless in their coordination and supervision.

Xenophobic Attacks: Nigerian Students To Picket MTN, MultiChoice, Other Businesses

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS South-West Zone D, has announced plans to picket South African companies in Nigeria following the ongoing xenophobic attacks in the country.

DAILY POST reports that some Nigerians were recently killed in South Africa over the violent attacks.

A statement issued to newsmen by Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, Coordinator, NANS South-West, Zone D, said that the association is mobilizing to take decisive and lawful action by organizing peaceful picketing and mass advocacy against South African business interests operating in Nigeria.

“We categorically state that the continued targeting of Nigerians under any guise is unacceptable and must come to an immediate end.

N5m, N10m Zero-interest Loans: SheVentures Opens Applications For Women Entrepreneurs

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has opened a new round of applications for its SheVentures proposition, offering zero-interest loans of up to ₦10 million to women entrepreneurs to ease access to working capital and support business growth.

The facility provides loans ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦5 million under a general category, and ₦5 million to ₦10 million for sector-specific businesses, with funding capped at up to 50% of an applicant’s average monthly turnover.

At the centre of the offering is a 0% interest rate, with all charges embedded in a transparent structure.

Repayment is structured over four or six months, allowing businesses to match obligations with their cash flow cycles.

Yemisi Edun, Managing Director and Chief Executive of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), said the initiative reflects a deliberate approach to inclusive growth.
