Kano Censorship Board Shuts Down Zoo Playground Over Alleged Indecent Dance During Sallah

The Kano State Film and Censorship Board has shut down a playground at the Kano Zoo after it was accused of hosting a dance performance considered indecent and culturally offensive.
The closure followed an operation carried out by a monitoring committee established by the board’s chairman, Abba El-Mustapha, and led by the Director of Culture, Abubakar Zakari Garun Babba.
The committee was tasked with overseeing entertainment centers during the recent Sallah celebrations.
According to the board, the incident involved a man and a woman who were found dancing in a manner deemed a clear violation of public decency and contrary to traditional Hausa values.

Chairman of the Kano Film and Censorship Board, Abba El-Mustapha, expressed his gratitude to the people of Kano State for their support in upholding moral standards.
