Light Up Edo Crusade: Adeboye, J.T. Kalejaiye, Others Storm Benin

Free Buses Available All Over Strategic Locations – RCCG

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has promised that after a Light Up Edo Crusade by Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the church, Edo State will never remain the same.

INFO DAILY reports that other men of God expected to join Pastor Adeboye in the two days crusade scheduled to hold between January 29 and 30, 2024, at Garrick Memorial College, Benin, are Pastor J.T. Kalejaiye, the Intercontinental Evangelist of the RCCG; Pastor Margret Agbonifo, Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Edo State; Chairman , Christian Association of Nigeria, among others.

Briefing newsmen in Benin in preparation of the Light Up Edo Crusade, Pastor-in-charge of Region 38 of the RCCG, Bode Olojede, said the crusade, being an interdenominational programme was aimed at bringing the body of Christ and to make sure the light of Christ shine the world over.

Pastor Olojede, while noting that the “programme is not meant for the RCCG alone but for the body of Christ in Nigeria and the whole world,” disclosed that it was conceived after the General Overseer of the church clocked 80 years, adding that the church felt there was need to win more souls for Christ through aggressive evangelism.

The RCCG Pastor, who disclosed that the programme has been on for the past two years, said: “This year, we have about eight locations, and as God will have it, Edo State was chosen to be the launching part of the global outreach of the Light Up Crusade. It is an avenue to come together and pray on behalf of the church.

“We must allow our light to shine wherever we are. And as we allow our light to shine, darkness will depart. We believe that after the crusade Edo State will never remain the same.”

He said, to make sure lives and properties are secured during the two days crusade, the church has engaged all the security agents in the state, adding that the Edo State government has also assured of adequate security during the crusade.

On his part, Pastor-in-charge of Region 13 of the RCCG, Amos Adesina Tugbobo, said “as we gather for this Light Up Crusade, men if God will be speaking the word of God, darkness all over Edo State and beyond will depart.”

He added: “When we say darkness, we mean anything that represents evil, sickness, disease, poverty, frustration, among others. But as the light shines, they will all give way. Light and darkness cannot co-exist, it is not possible. So, we are trusting the Almighty God to really shine the light in Edo. It has happened before, it is going to happen again.”

Speaking on logistics that have been put in place for smooth running of the programme, Programme Committee Coordinator and Pastor-in-charge of Edo Province 11, Ademola Ige, said the church has made free busses available all over the state to convene people to and from.

Also lending his voice, Rev. Phil Arojie, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Youth Leader and Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Director of Youth, Women and Education Development said: “It is a programme that we believe will change the cause of peace in Edo State especially in an election year like this. We believe that God has a purpose for Edo State. After this programme, Edo State will witness a peaceful election, and we are going to have a peaceful year by the grace of God.

He called on all ‘Edolites’ and those within the region of Delta, Ondo and Ekiti to take advantage of the crusade.

Xenophobic Attacks: Nigerian Students To Picket MTN, MultiChoice, Other Businesses

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS South-West Zone D, has announced plans to picket South African companies in Nigeria following the ongoing xenophobic attacks in the country.

DAILY POST reports that some Nigerians were recently killed in South Africa over the violent attacks.

A statement issued to newsmen by Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, Coordinator, NANS South-West, Zone D, said that the association is mobilizing to take decisive and lawful action by organizing peaceful picketing and mass advocacy against South African business interests operating in Nigeria.

“We categorically state that the continued targeting of Nigerians under any guise is unacceptable and must come to an immediate end.

N5m, N10m Zero-interest Loans: SheVentures Opens Applications For Women Entrepreneurs

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has opened a new round of applications for its SheVentures proposition, offering zero-interest loans of up to ₦10 million to women entrepreneurs to ease access to working capital and support business growth.

The facility provides loans ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦5 million under a general category, and ₦5 million to ₦10 million for sector-specific businesses, with funding capped at up to 50% of an applicant’s average monthly turnover.

At the centre of the offering is a 0% interest rate, with all charges embedded in a transparent structure.

Repayment is structured over four or six months, allowing businesses to match obligations with their cash flow cycles.
