My Acting Career Scared My Father — Late Billionaire, Ibru’s Daughter

Actress, Elvina Ibru, has said her father, the late billionaire businessman, was scared about her becoming an actress.

When Sunday Scoop asked her if she had ever been viewed as being irresponsible because of her job as an actress, Ibru said, “Yes. However, it did not come from strangers, but from some of my family members, especially my father. But, I wouldn’t use the word ‘irresponsible’; rather, he thought I was taking too much risk depending on acting as a career.”

Ibru also stated that she believed Nollywood was progressing well despite numerous challenges. She said, “I will say we are doing reasonably well, considering all the challenges we have had to deal with over the years. However, our progress is very fast. If you look at the history of Bollywood (India) and Hollywood (United States of America), they have been existing for over 100 years. I don’t think the world should expect us to be as great as them after only about 40 years. However, I will like to see more of own stories being told.”

Expressing displeasure at how difficult it is for filmmakers to make their money back when a movie is released in the country, she said, “It is difficult to make one’s money back when one releases a movie in this country. Also, the kind of money some global streaming platforms give to filmmakers in Nigeria is chicken change compared to what they give to people in America and Europe.”

VeryDarkMan Finally Unveils Girlfriend Amid Alleged Relationship With Jojo Of Lele

Social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has unveiled his girlfriend amid rumoured relationship with content creator, Jojo of Lele.

Flaunting pictures of them together on all his social media handles, VeryDarkMan announced the lady’s arrival and his break from social media.

He wrote with love emoji: “She’s here, bye Internet for now.”

This came amidhis alleged relationship with content creator, Jojo of Lele.

DAILY POST reports that Jojo of Lele who always refers to VeryDarkMan as her husband, announced him as her man almost a year ago.

Recall that VeryDarkMan had in February 2025, named Jojo of Lele among women that media personality, Nedu Wazobia, allegedly slept with in exchange for features on his platform.

Denying the allegation, JoJo noted “I have never had anything to do with Nedu.”

Following the controversy, VeryDarkMan invited Jojo of Lele for dinner in Abuja. Speaking after their meeting, the content creator professed love to VeryDarkMan.

“I’m in love with VDM,” she said days after visiting the critic.

Comedian Sabinus Opens Up On Traumatic Relationship Experience With His Ex

Nigerian comedian, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has opened up about a traumatic relationship experience, where his lover left him despite his expensive acts of love.

Speaking in a recent livestream with TikToker Sandra Benede, Sabinus described love as “cruel,” stressing that he resonates with what TikTok star Peller is going through following his breakup with his girlfriend, Jarvis.

Sabinus explained that he has been in a similar situation with Peller, who has been throwing public tantrums and involved in a ghastly car accident following the heartbreak.

He recalled how a lady he gifted a range rover out of love later left him. The comedian said he regretted the decision.

He urged Nigerians not to be harsh on Peller, stressing that love can be cruel sometimes.

“Jarvis has finished Peller. I have been in Peller’s situation before. Love is cruel. I once gifted a girl Range Rover because of love. She later left me. I regretted it. So nobody should blame Peller,” Sabinus said.

Recall that Sabinus confirmed that his marriage to his wife and mother of his child, Ciana Chapman, has ended during a TikTok livestream in December 2025.

The couple got married in a private ceremony in 2023, and the marriage lasted for just over a year.

Anthony Joshua Returns To UK In Private Jet

Former world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, has flown back to the United Kingdom (UK) following the horror crash that left him hospitalised and killed two of his close friends, Sun newspaper reported on Saturday night.

The boxer landed at London Stansted Airport in a private jet on Friday night and was ferried to his mansion, where he’ll continue his recuperation.

Joshua’s strength coach, Sina Ghami and his personal trainer, Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele, both 36, died after the vehicle they were travelling in ploughed into a stationary truck near the Sagamu axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Monday.

Joshua, 36, had to be pulled from the mangled wreckage but fortunately only sustained minor injuries in the crash.

This comes as there were reports that the funerals of Joshua’s friends will be held today at a mosque in London.

Family and friends have been invited to a “janaza prayer service” – an Islamic prayer – and funeral of Ghami and Ayodele in the morning.

Joshua is undecided as to whether he will attend the funeral, out of fear that his presence could cause a “circus”.

A source said: “Anthony wants to go to the funeral but he hasn’t decided yet, he’s mindful that his presence could cause a circus and overshadow the funeral for the family of his two friends.”
