My Wedding Suit, Apartment Paid For By Others – Mike Bamiloye Recalls Humble Marital Beginnings

The founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Evang. Mike Bamiloye has revealed that his chief groomsman bought the suit and shirt he wore on his wedding day because he could not afford them.

Pastor Bamiloye also stated that he could not afford to take his wife on honeymoon due to financial limitations.

He disclosed this on his official Facebook account on Monday, stating that he did his honeymoon at home, an apartment rented by his sister.

“When I got married, I didn’t have any money to take my wife to honeymoon. We stayed in the house that we just rented. No Money for Honeymoon.

“Me, that it was my Big Sister that rented the flat for me so that I would not bring my wife to her house. Shey, Me, that it was my Best Man that bought my suit and shirt so that I could wear the same thing with him,” the preacher wrote.

Mike Bamiloye equally disclosed that the shoes and socks he wore on his wedding day was purchased by his sister-in-law, adding that himself and his wife could not even afford a wedding gown.

Shey Me, that it was my Sister-in-Law that graciously bought the shoes and socks that I wore on my Wedding Day. Gloria and I went around to see where we could rent a Wedding gown and we got a place and told them we would come back with the money, before a Sister in our Ministry gave us the money to deposit for sowing a Wedding Gown.”

Bamiloye further admitted that he could not foot the bill for his court wedding saying, “Me, that I took my wife to the Registry to ask about Court Marriage and they told us the money to pay for the event, it was a very small amount of money. It was around N170.00 (One Hundred and Seventy NAIRA). But we could not get the Money so we collected their forms and never returned with it because I could not get the money required.

“So we went to the Wedding without the Registry. So we never had Government Marriage Certificate until about Six years ago when and Embassy demanded for it, because we didn’t have the money for Court marriage.”

He stressed that the money he realised during his wedding was dedicated to settling the debts he owed before the event.

“All the Money we got on our Wedding day was used to settle the debts of the printer who printed out Wedding Programs and other things. So, two days after our Wedding, we had no money on us again.

“The following Saturday we had a drama ministrations in ILESA, and we stood beside the road looking for

He maintained that his wedding was helped and sponsored by grace – and expressed gratitude to God for how far they have come and for giving him a wife that is contented.

The coupled got married on October 8, 1998 and they are blessed with three (3) children, Joshua, Damilola and Darasimi.

Xenophobic Attacks: Nigerian Students To Picket MTN, MultiChoice, Other Businesses

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS South-West Zone D, has announced plans to picket South African companies in Nigeria following the ongoing xenophobic attacks in the country.

DAILY POST reports that some Nigerians were recently killed in South Africa over the violent attacks.

A statement issued to newsmen by Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, Coordinator, NANS South-West, Zone D, said that the association is mobilizing to take decisive and lawful action by organizing peaceful picketing and mass advocacy against South African business interests operating in Nigeria.

“We categorically state that the continued targeting of Nigerians under any guise is unacceptable and must come to an immediate end.

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has opened a new round of applications for its SheVentures proposition, offering zero-interest loans of up to ₦10 million to women entrepreneurs to ease access to working capital and support business growth.

The facility provides loans ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦5 million under a general category, and ₦5 million to ₦10 million for sector-specific businesses, with funding capped at up to 50% of an applicant’s average monthly turnover.

At the centre of the offering is a 0% interest rate, with all charges embedded in a transparent structure.

Repayment is structured over four or six months, allowing businesses to match obligations with their cash flow cycles.
