North-East Group Supports Tinubu For 2023 President

A group under the aegis of ‘Ahmed Bola Tinubu for 2023 President’, on Saturday said that Tinubu is a detribalized Nigerian that can lead the country effectively.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the North-East Coordinator and Bauchi state Coordinator of the group, Engr. Ahmed Yusuf and Danjuma Suleiman.

The group described Tinubu as a selfless Nigerian who appointed people that are not from Lagos State as government officials including Commissioners, Special Advisers among others.

“During his tenure, he was acceptable everywhere across the country and with such attributes, he will be a good President of Nigeria.

“Among all those who have either publicly or silently indicated interest in the 2033 presidency, Sen. Ahmed Bola Tinubu (Jagaban) is the most qualified to contest for the office of the president to eventually become the next president of Nigeria considering his political pedigree which cannot be equalled by any politician in the country,” the statement read in part.

The group also stated that as a two tenure Governor of Lagos State, Tinubu excelled in the area of transformation of every facet of Human and infrastructural development.

It added that the APC National Leader succeeded even in the face of stiff opposition from the then Federal Government led by the PDP Administration.

The Tinubu led Government was not deterred but went about the act of governance through internally generated revenue (IGR).

“He developed every aspect of the state to an enviable position in the country and all others who came after him have been able to build on what foundation he laid,” said the group.

Following the resignation of former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Deputy Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, is now presiding over his first National Working Committee meeting in his capacity as Acting National Chairman.

Dalori, along with several NWC members, is currently meeting at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

NEC Meeting: Police Manhandle, Arrest Worker At PDP Secretariat

Amid the escalating crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party over the position of National Secretary and the forthcoming 100th National Executive Committee meeting, security agents have reportedly manhandled and arrested Thomas Ibu, a staff member in the party’s Publicity Department.

A PUNCH correspondent at the PDP National Secretariat in Wuse Zone 5 witnessed several policemen surround and apprehend Ibu.

The incident prompted other PDP staff members to attempt to intervene, resisting the police’s actions.

However, the security operatives overpowered them and swiftly took Ibu away.

JUST IN: Police Besiege PDP Headquarters Ahead Of NEC Meeting

There is a heightened security presence at Wadata Plaza, the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abuja, as armed policemen were deployed ahead of the party’s crucial National Executive Committee meeting scheduled for today.

A party official, who spoke to Channels Television on condition of anonymity, claimed that the police were sent to prevent the proposed Expanded Caucus Meeting from taking place.

However, some staff members of the party were allowed to go into the premises of the secretariat without any resistance from the police.

The policemen were seen cordoning off Dalaba Street, which is the road leading to Wadata Plaza.
