All roads lead to Pen Resource Centre, Ile Awiye, Oke Baale, Osogbo, tomorrow morning, where the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, OSBC Chapel would be celebrating their past leaders, presenting professional Awards to some outstanding members and Award of Excellence to selected icons, who have impacted positively on the people.
Among those to be celebrated at the event tagged “Ancestors Day”, are Elder Smolette Adetoyese Shittu-Alamu, Late Babatunde Idowu, Mrs Adejumoke Akinjiola, Prince Akinola Owolabi, Ayoade Adedayo and Hon. Bamidele Salam. Other Celebrants are Pastor Babatunde Oguntomi, Prince Olusola Ajiboye, Mr Babatunde Fanawopo, Alhaji Oluwatoyin Yusuf, Late Tunde Adeyemo and Mr Nathaniel Oyegoke, who had, at one time or the other, led the OSBC Chapel of the NUJ.
The 4-in-1 event would also witness the delivery of Independence Anniversary Lecture, with the Topic: Sixty Four Years Of Struggling After Freedom: Which Way Nigeria?, to be delivered by Prof Abdwasiu Oyedokun-Ali, from the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, in Ekiti State.

NUJ, OSBC Chapel will also present Awards of Excellence to dignitaries, including Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi Ajagunla, Honourables Dele Salam, Olusoji Adetunji, and Maruf Adewale Gangaria, who are members of the National Assembly as well as Engr. Olalekan Badmus, the Executive Director of Nigerian Port Authority, NPA; Otunba Rotimi Rominiyi, a Senior Business Executive from United Kingdom and Comrade Ayodele Agboola, another Business Executive based in the US.
The Olowu of Kuta Kingdom, Oba Hameed Adekunle Oyelude Tegbosun III, CON, is the Royal Host; and the Olororuwo of Ororuwo, Oba Qamarudeen Adeyemi Adeyanju Alawode IV, the Royal Father of the day. Retired DIG Gazali Adewale Lawal is Father of the Day, while an American based Tech Expert, Prince Saheed Olalekan OYETUNDE will Chair the occasion.
The Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on OSBC Matters, Dr Femi Adefila; the Chairman, OSBC Board of Directors, Engineer Mayowa Olosho; the Director General/Permanent Secretary of OSBC Conglomerate, Mrs Jolaade Igbaroola and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Mrs Abimbola Babatunde are all Chief Hosts for the occasion.
On Friday, September 27, there is going to be a Special Jumat Service at the NACOMYO School Jumat Mosque, Ayetoro, Osogbo, as the last event on the line-up of activities for the week.
