Mr. Desmond Selekowei Kororo, the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant to Edo State governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Security of Waterways and Forestry, has vowed to use all within his disposal to rid the state’s waterways and forest of all forms of criminality and illegality perpetrated by some unscrupulous elements.
INFO DAILY reports that, until his appointment, Kororo was the youth chairman of Gelegelegbene community and currently the Chief Security Officer of the community and Sector Commander of Edo Security Network in charge of Gelegelegbene and its environs.
Kororo, who made the vow during a chat with INFO DAILY, said security has been what he had been doing effectively, stressing that now that he has the backing of the government and being an eye of Mr Governor, he would do all his possible best to discharge the responsibility given to him.
While sending a stern warning to all carrying out all manner of illegal activities and criminality both on waterways and forests in the state to desist from such, Kororo said it’s not going to be business as usual, and that the law will soon catch up with such persons.
He added: “All those involved in such acts should desist from such with immediate effect or face the wrath of the law.
“Charity they say begins at home, hence I will kick-start my operation and surveillance from my own area- the waterways and communities therein. I will go through all the areas and fish out those hiding to do evil.

“The Okomu National Park is not going to be spared. All those carrying out illegality activities, are going to face the consequences. You can’t be felling government trees and expect such government to fold its arms and watch. The Governor has ordered me, and I am going to deliver exactly his message.
“And all those carrying out illegal activities in our creeks should refrain from it or face wrath of the law as the government is ready to deal seriously with them,” he added.
While thanking Obaseki for finding him worthy of this important appointment, the Sector Commander promised to undertake the task ahead of him to the best of his ability, putting all the experiences he had acquired throughout his working as a sector commander of the Edo State Security Network
