The Odionwere, Elder-In-Council and the people of Orhua, an agrarian village in Uhunmwode Local Local Government Area of Edo State, have condemned the false rumour that was spread, recently, that a business mogul and philanthropist, Idahosa Wells Okunbo (better known as Captain Hosa), was dead, “whereas he was hale, hearty and alive in overseas, where he travelled to”
In a press statement made available to the press Sunday, by the Office of the Odionwere (leadership by the oldest man) of a community, Pa Asiboja Akele, the Odionwere of Orhua, frowned at the false news, declaring it, inter alia, as a “deadly evil and most unthinkable thing to have been instigated by men and women, who were created by God…”
Orhua, one of the oldest Bini communities, the aboriginal home of Captain Hosa and his extended Okunbo family, also denounced as false a media comment by one Osazuwa Ugiangbe, that the “Ancestors of Orhua are angry with Captain Hosa, because he did not use the money he spent on a certain evil venture to develop Orhua” The statement further read that Osazuwa Ugiangbe, “who is not from the village and some others which consist the Irhue Clan, was not being fair by always joining others to mock the community”.

Regarding Captain Hosa as an illustrious son, who had done very well for his Orhua people and in the affairs of men, he asserted that “he is a prophet honoured at home and abroad“.
Orhua community, he also said, “places great values on the children, particularly their children, hence they could go the length to protect them”
Wondering as to how Osazuwa Ugiangbe got to know about the “angry Ancestors” (even the living) with Captain Hosa, he asserted that he is a generous and progressive minded personality, who had benefited his village and is loved by all.

He said that Captain Hosa had always continued in the worthy footsteps of his grandfather, Pa Okunbo Igiewe and this immediate father Rev. Robert Amos Okunbo, who although had both passed on, are still respected by the people of the village.
The statement, therefore, called on Captain Hosa, not to be deterred by his unjust hecklers, but to continue to work for the progress of the society, and not to discontinue with his good nature, especially for forgiving those who wronged him. A forgiving hearts, he said has God’s continuous rewards.
Whilst pledging the continual prayers and support of the community for Captain Hosa, he thanked His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin, for his fatherly disposition to Captain Hosa, as he also urged men and women of goodwill to do same.
