The Deputy Director of Bola Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Adams Oshiomole, has explained the incident that transpired during the tenure of former President Goodluck Jonathan concerning the infamous fuel subsidy removal.

The former Governor of Edo State clarified on Wednesday morning while fielding questions on the Arise Tv morning show programme.

Oshiomole was explaining his previous statement during Jonathan’s tenure alleging that fuel subsidy was a scam as against the current plan by his presidential candidate to remove fuel subsidy if elected into power in 2023.

He said that he was not given satisfactory explanations about fuel subsidies in the past.

“Let us recognise that as much as I am part of APC, and I chaired it for two years, and I am now a Deputy Director of Bola Tinubu Campaign Organisation, I have my views. I am on record, when I was the president of NLC, when Jonathan was the president, as arguing that nobody has given me satisfactory statistics to explain the2023: Atiku’ll Certainly Relocate To Dubai, He’s Comfortable There – Oshiomhole numbers that NNPC threw around.

“I am not going to hide it because somebody will misinterpret it. The president does not fund the NNPC; even as NNPC is supposed to be, and it has become an autonomous private company.

“But it does not matter whether you interpret it any way you interpret it. This president admits and appreciates that part of the crisis in Nigeria is the abuse of public institutions; we are not hiding that. Nobody has suggested that we have been able to cure all those ailments.

“And the fact that you are worried, you may be seeing it as an indictment. We are not indicting, I am not indicting the government. And we are not ashamed to admit that as far as we have tried, there are a couple of things that are still not going as planned by the government.”

You’re Not 001 – Wike Rubbishes Claims Of Fubara Being APC Leader In Rivers

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has mocked Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State for declaring himself the “001” of the state.

Stressing that Fubara is not the 001 of the state, Wike downplayed claims that the governor is the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.

Fubara had made the declaration after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC. During his registration with the APC in Rivers State, he was assigned 001 on his membership.

However, speaking during his end-of-the-year media parley in Port Harcourt, Wike said: “He [Fubara] decamped to APC with who? What is 001? Let me tell you, there’s nothing like 001 in the state.

“You register in your ward and local government, so if you are 001, it’s in your ward.

“There’s nothing like 001. There’s nothing like I have registered in the state as 001. Everybody registered in their own ward. You could be the first person to register, but that’s not your position.”

On Fubara being the leader of the party in Rivers State, Wike said: “I don’t know about that because if he says so, who is the leader of APC in Lagos State?

“So there are some exceptions to the rule, so let’s not go into other things.

“See, leadership is not because I’m a governor. Leadership is not because I’m a minister. You must have something that makes you a leader.”

“We went and said, look, we want to see President. And the President said, okay, come to the house. We went to the house as usual. And we said, Sir, we are still available. We still work together.

“So what is the issue of saying that we had a meeting?

“To start with, Seyi you cannot, he does not have what it takes to tell me that. He does not. He knows.

“He has never called me Wike. And to hell with him. You heard him say $1 million. Did he pay my school fees? That’s a disrespect.

“That is my father’s name. He can’t do that. He has never done that. He doesn’t have what it takes. Forget he’s a governor.”
