Osimhen Ranked Fourth Best Striker In Europe

On-form Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, has been rated as the fourth best striker in Europe topflight leagues.

Osimhen, who has had five weeks already this season on the sidelines due to a harmstring injury has scored seven goals in eight league games for Napoli.

The Nigerian international averages a goal every 93 minutes in the Italian Serie A.

In the latest ranking by Italian Corriere dello Sport, the 23-year-old is behind the trio of Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski and Kylian Mbappe.

Manchester City and Norwegian international Haaland ranks first having scored 17 goals in his first 11 EPL games, averaging a goal every 55 minutes; Barcelona’s Lewandowski is in the second position having netted 13 goals in 12 games.

PSG’s Mbappe ranks third with 11 goals for the Ligue 1 leaders this season.

Osimhen is not the only Nigerian on the list as Lorient and Super Eagles striker, Terem Moffi is in the fifth position after scoring eight goals in 12 Ligue 1 games.

Others are RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku in the sixth position, Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic in the seventh position, and Tottenham’s Harry Kane in the eighth position.

Arsenal legend, Paul Merson, has handed his old club two signings to make in the summer.

Merson wants Arsenal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez and a new midfielder.

“I would get a centre forward this summer, I would go for Julian Alvarez,” Merson said on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast.

EPL: Wayne Rooney Picks Most Improved Player This Season

Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has picked the Red Devils defender Luke Shaw as the most improved player in the Premier League following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.

Speaking on his BBC podcast, Rooney said, “I think, for me, Luke Shaw. I think Luke Shaw has been the most improved player this season.

“I know he is an experienced player now, but I think his level this season has been much better than it has been in recent seasons.

EPL: Maresca Signs Three-year Contract To Replace Guardiola At Man City

Former Chelsea and Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca has signed a three-year contract with Manchester City.

Maresca will now replace Pep Guardiola, who took charge of his last game on Sunday – a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, wrote on X on Tuesday: “Enzo Maresca has already signed a three-year deal as Manchester City’s new manager.
