It was the coming together of the rich Ijaw culture and Benin as people from all works of life, particularly from the Ijaw nation, converged on Benin City, Saturday, March 5th, to witness the traditional marriage between lady Success and Chief Ben Bowei, a former national treasurer of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC).

The marriage which took place at Second Circular, Benin attracted both former and serving leaders of the most respected IYC across the oil-rich Niger Delta.

The groom family, led by High Chief Millionaire Muje, went straight to pay the pride price for the bride family and other necessary payment as required by traditional before they were ushered to the dancing floor with danceable Ijaw music wherein naira rained heavily for the amusement of many.

The Groom, who could not hide his feeling thanked all those who came from far and near to witness the marriage despite the short notice, saying “I am honoured, and I pray God to bless you and guide you back to your different destination.”

Present at the epoch traditional marriage were: High Chief Millionaire Muje; High Chief (Engr.) Pascal Akpofagha; Chief Somi Miye; Don Victor Kowei; Warela Muje; Tuemi Makilolo; former and serving IYC leaders, etc.

Men of the Lagos state police command have arrested singer Portable. The singer was arrested today May 14 following a petition from a car dealer.

Portable allegedly purchased a G-Wagon worth N27 million from the car dealer, made a down payment of N14 million and took the vehicle away with the promise to pay the balance.

After waiting for a while without any word concerning his balance, the dealer reached out to the singer who claimed the car he purchased had faults. The dealer then asked the singer to return the car or pay the balance but Portable allegedly refused.

Following a petition from the dealer, the police moved in and arrested the singer. The singer jumped his gate in an attempt to stop his arrest. He is currently in custody at the state police headquarters and might spend the night there as the police is yet to receive any surety for his bail.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest of the singer.

The Lagos State Police Command, has said that the controversial singer Haberb Okikiola popularly known as Portable would be granted bail only if he is able to produce a reliable surety.

The singer was arrested Tuesday morning following his inability to pay the balance of N14 million out of N27 million worth of a G-Wagon car he purchased from a car dealer.

He was said to have paid only N13 million, while refusing to pay the N14 million balance.

The Police Command in Lagos State has arrested singer, rapper, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable or Dr. Zeh.

This was confirmed by the Lagos police command spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, to Vanguard in the late hours of Tuesday.

When asked for the reason for the arrest, he said the popular Dr. Zeh was arrested in the morning due to failure to balance up money for a G-Wagon car that he purchased.
