Protest: Gov. Mohammed Pledges To Rebuild Vandalized Council Secretariat, Others

Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has pledged to rebuild the looted and razed Katagum local government Secretariat in Azare during a violent protest that erupted in the area.

The governor, who made the pledge on Thursday when he visited Azare to assess the level of damage caused by the hoodlums who hijacked the #EndBadGovernance protest, also promised to reconstruct the vandalized home of the immediate past deputy governor, Alh. Baba Tela.

He also promised that the state government would renovate the Government Lodge that was vandalized during the incident last Monday.

Half of the Secretariat was set ablaze while other parts were looted including the Information and Communication Technology department where salary is being processed,” he said.

Mohammed said that the government would go to the drawing board to redesign the facility which is the seat of administration and the second biggest council in the state.

He pledged to declare a state of emergency in rebuilding the council secretariat.

Mohammed pledged to support the ex-deputy governor, Baba Tela and another Islamiya school that was vandalized.

He however, urged the perpetrators of the incident to heed the warning of the government, adding that they hurt the people and themselves and not the government.

Mohammed visited the Emir of Katagum, Alh Umar Farouq II where he expressed concerns about the government’s failure to cater for the needs of the youths, adding that the government has heeded the warning of teeming youths.

Former Big Brother Naija winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, was reportedly involved in a heated altercation at a hotel in Abuja following an alleged N200,000 disagreement.

According to eyewitness accounts, the confrontation began in the early hours of Tuesday inside Phyna’s hotel room in Abuja, before spilling into the lobby, attracting the attention of guests and staff.

Sources claimed the dispute stemmed from an unsettled financial issue involving N200,000, which quickly escalated into a shouting match.

The argument reportedly intensified when neither party was willing to back down, leading to pushing and chaos within the hotel premises.

Eyewitnesses further alleged that the situation worsened after others connected to the individuals involved joined the confrontation, turning the verbal exchange into a physical clash.

The incident comes shortly after Phyna returned to the public eye following a brief break to mourn the death of her sister, who died in an accident involving a Dangote truck.

BREAKING: Bayelsa Governor, Douye Diri Dumps PDP For APC

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

According to Arise TV, the governor joined the ruling APC alongside 23 members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

This is coming barely 24 hours after the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah also joined the ruling party.
