PSG Boss Reveals Why Messi Hasn’t Returned To Club

Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier has revealed the exact time Lionel Messi will return to club action.

Messi has remained in Argentina following their FIFA World Cup win in Qatar and will not be back until after the Ligue 1 side face Lens at the start of 2023.

Messi won the World Cup with Argentina, beating club teammate Kylian Mbappe’s France 4-2 on penalties in the final.

Mbappe is back to training at the French side but Messi is celebrating the win in his home country.

Addressing the press ahead of PSG’s clash with Strasbourg, Galtier said, “We did it on a case-by-case basis, there are the players eliminated very early who had ten or twelve days and who all returned on time.

“Those who went further like Hakimi who made a very big run. I’m thinking of Kylian and Leo. Hakimi and Kylian wanted to come back quickly with us in the group.”

“Leo due to his geographical location and his victory will join us at the start of the year after ten, eleven days.”

Chelsea are set to sanction their first summer transfer under their new manager, Xabi Alonso.

According to the BBC Sport, the Blues are ‘open’ to selling Filip Jorgensen this summer after the goalkeeper indicated his desire to leave Stamford Bridge.

Jorgensen joined the Premier League west London club two seasons ago from Villarreal.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper was expected to compete for the number one position with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, but he made just 11 Premier League appearances over the two seasons.

However, while the arrival of Alonso to Stamford Bridge could lead to a change in fortunes for Jorgensen, the report added that the Danish star has already expressed his desire to leave Chelsea this summer to get more regular playing game-time elsewhere.

Chelsea had blocked a potential exit for Jorgensen in the January transfer window, but the Premier League west London club are now open to a sale, with European and English clubs expected to explore a deal for the goalkeeper.
