Paris Saint-Germain forward, Lionel Messi, has achieved an incredible feat for the first time since the 2019-2020 season with Barcelona after providing an assist in the Parisians’ Ligue 1 win against Angers.

Messi produced an assist for teammate Kylian Mbappe in PSG’s 2-1 Ligue 1 win over Angers at the weekend to take his tally to 15 this season.

The Argentina World Cup winner is now the leading assist provider in the French league this term.

Messi also has 15 Ligue 1 goals. The last time he managed this feat was in 2019-2020, when he bagged 25 goals and registered 21 assists in 33 La Liga games for Barca.

The Ballon d’Or winner signed a two-year contract that will see him earn a whopping sum of €200m annually.

Chelsea have reportedly opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a possible summer transfer for Neymar.

The Brazillian could be on the verge of leaving the Ligue 1 champions following the looming exit of friend and teammate, Lionel Messi.

FIFA Honours Napoli Hero Osimhen With Special Ball, Jersey

The Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, has gifted Victor Osimhen with a special jersey and ball following the forward’s outstanding performance for Napoli in the 2022/23 season.

Osimhen was pivotal to Napoli winning the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years.

The 24-year-old scored 26 goals and registered four assists in 32 league appearances for the Partenopei.

The striker also netted five times in six appearances for his club in the UEFA Champions League.

Osimhen claimed the top scorer award in Serie A, the first African to achieve the feat.
