Scores Of Bandits Killed As Airforce Bombs Some Camps In Kaduna

Scores of bandits have been killed during an air raid conducted by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in some of their camps located in Chikun and Igabi local government areas of Kaduna State.

A statement issued by the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, on Monday, said that the airforce carried out the air strikes on an identified bandits’ location in the Kawara General area of Igabi local government.

He disclosed that three bandits were neutralized during the operation, while some kidnapped victims used the opportunity to escape from the camp where they were held captive by the bandits.

Similar operations were also successfully carried out by the Airforce at another bandits enclave in Walawa, Giwa Local Government Area.

Also in Chikun local government, armed surveillance was carried out over Faka, Kangon Kadi, Damba, Ungwan Turai, Galbi, Gwagwada, and environs, where terrorists, who were sighted about 4km Northwest of Godani, were neutralized.

In Kuduru, an active terrorist’s location was sighted and struck with rockets.

In Igabi LGA, operations were conducted over Riyawa, Alhaji Isiaka, Rima, Riyawa, Rumana, Ungwan Liman, Mai Gishiri, and the Kaduna Airport area, with no significant activity noticed. A similar situation was also obtained in Sabon Birnin, Anaba, Malumi, Wusono, and Kerawa.

Also covered by the aerial patrols were the Kaduna-Abuja road and rail line, as well as Jere, Katari, Olam Farms, Gwagwada, Sarkin Pawa, Abulo, Mangoro, Chikwale, and environs. Normal human and vehicular activities were observed, with no threats encountered.

The Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road and adjoining areas were similarly covered: Buruku, Labi, Udawa, Manini, and Polewire up to Kajuru, Jaka da Rabi and Maguzawa.



Police Arrest Two Suspects In Army Uniform, Recover Cash, Weapons




The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers terrorizing parts of the Ekye Development Area in Doma Local Government Area of the state.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said the operation which was carried out on Thursday night followed a complaint by residents.

The PPRO identified the suspects as Abdullahi Basso and Saidu Isah.

He said the command received complaints of weekly armed robberies on Thursday nights by persons clad in military uniforms along Doma-Rukubi Road in the Ekye community.

The statement noted that upon the receipt of the complaint, operatives attached to Ekye Division laid a “successful ambush on the criminals at Kwanar Kare; a dangerous spot along Doma-Rukubi Road where armed robbers usually block the road and Rob unsuspecting road users.

“The duo of Abdullahi Basso and Saidu Isah both males of Rugan Maigari, Rukubi village dressed in military uniforms were arrested at the scene while about to carry out their operation, and the sum of three hundred thousand naira cash (N300,000), a knife and other items were recovered from them as exhibits.

“The suspects confessed to having attacked one Mallam Barka at the same spot last week where they dispossessed him of the sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000)”.

Residents Scoop Fuel As Tanker Overturns In Lagos




A fuel-laden tanker overturned in the Ojuelegba area of Lagos State on Friday, creating a dangerous atmosphere for residents to bring different sizes of containers to scoop fuel.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority posted the video of the incident on its X account with a throng of Lagosisans scooping for the liquid.

However, LASTMA disclosed that there was no record of fatality in the accident that occurred in the area.

Emergencies authorities, however, said no casualties were recorded and efforts are in top gear to clear the area.

A tanker loaded with oil upturned at Dormanlong bridge inward Fadeyi,” LASTMA said.

“LRU has been contacted to its evacuation, officers are on ground managing the situation,” it added.

No report as of this time of filing this report that the vessel has been moved.

JUST IN: Gunmen Kill Anambra Community Leader




Some yet-to-be-identified hoodlums have killed the President-General of Umuoji Community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Silas Onyima.

Although, the details of the incident are still sketchy, but it was gathered that the hoodlums, numbering about 15, invaded the deceased’s home on Friday evening and shot him dead thereby throwing the community into panic.

A source said, “The deceased was newly elected president general of our community and he also presided over one election in the community. He was killed on Friday evening when some masked men visited his home and shot him dead.”

Confirming the incident when contacted, the state police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said police operatives have been deployed in the area.

Ikenga said, “The police are aware of the development. We got the information and we have deployed our men to the area. Our men have gone to the scene when the information got to us, they found the man in a pool of blood.

“The body of deceased has been recovered and deposited at the morgue with the help of some of the family members. We are also working with some eyewitnesses and community members to help track the perpetrators and investigation is ongoing.”
