Serena Williams’ Husband Buys Stake In Chelsea Women’s Team

Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian says that he has bought a sake in serial English women’s football champions Chelsea.

I’ve bet big on women’s sports before and I’m doing it again,” Ohanian, husband of Serena Williams, wrote on X alongside a news report saying he had bought a 10 percent stake thought to be worth about £20 million ($27 million).

“I’m proud to announce that I’m joining Chelsea FCW as an investor and board member.

“I’m honoured for the chance to help this iconic club become America’s favourite Barclays WSL team and much, much more.”

The 42-year-old entrepreneur, who married tennis legend Williams in 2017, was previously an investor in US women’s football club Angel City FC.

Ohanian has also invested in women’s athletics.

Chelsea have just won their sixth consecutive Women’s Super League title, becoming the first team to finish a 22-game campaign unbeaten.

They also won the League Cup and will aim to complete a domestic treble when they face Manchester United in the FA Cup final on Sunday.

Ohanian wrote: “These players are rewriting the game. Undefeated season. Eyes on the treble.

“But this isn’t just about winning titles. It’s about finally matching their talent with the resources, visibility, and respect they deserve.

Arsenal legend, Paul Merson, has handed his old club two signings to make in the summer.

Merson wants Arsenal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez and a new midfielder.

“I would get a centre forward this summer, I would go for Julian Alvarez,” Merson said on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast.

Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has picked the Red Devils defender Luke Shaw as the most improved player in the Premier League following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.

Speaking on his BBC podcast, Rooney said, “I think, for me, Luke Shaw. I think Luke Shaw has been the most improved player this season.

“I know he is an experienced player now, but I think his level this season has been much better than it has been in recent seasons.

EPL: Maresca Signs Three-year Contract To Replace Guardiola At Man City

Former Chelsea and Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca has signed a three-year contract with Manchester City.

Maresca will now replace Pep Guardiola, who took charge of his last game on Sunday – a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, wrote on X on Tuesday: “Enzo Maresca has already signed a three-year deal as Manchester City’s new manager.
